Company: Get Transcribed
Owner: Matt Ryczko
Welcome to my 3rd party review of Get Transcribed!
Before we jump into the review I would like to take the time to congratulate you on reviewing a company before applying.
This can save you time and money if the company is a scam and point you in the right direction if the company is legit.
This review will answer this question, but remember, you are the one making the final decision.
You can also check out the step-by-step training that helps me earn over $10,000+ per month working from home.
Here is a list of sections this review will contain:
• What is Get Transcribed?
• How does it work?
• What are the requirements?
• What is the application process like?
• How do you get paid by GT?
• What will you be doing at GT?
• Why is there a $100 cash out minimum?
• What does BBB have to say about GT?
• The final Verdict
This may seem a little overboard but I want you to make the best decision for you.
You know yourself better than I ever could and therefore, must know everything about the company before applying.
I would like to point out that my initial research has uncovered some good news in regards to the legitimacy of Get Transcribed (GT).
Does this mean that this company is for everyone?
No, of course not, but working for a company that is doomed to fail is something that you must avoid at any cost.
Let’s dive into the review!
What is Get Transcribed?
Like all transcription companies, there are requirements that you have to meet before you can get hired.
First of all, you need to be able to type at least 60 words per minute.
There is also a 100% accuracy requirement, which is understandable.
GT requires you to be a native English speaker and have a PayPal account to receive payments.
To be honest, there is nothing out of the ordinary to report in this section but I wanted to make sure you knew the basics.
Make sure you have a foot pedal and headset to help you become more efficient in your duties.
They are not required but highly recommended.
What is the Application Process?
Their website indicates that if you meet all of their requirements, you should apply.
The email you send GT should include some information about you, why you are interested in becoming a transcriber and what skills you have.
Most people that are hired have not had to take an exam before being hired but the new upgrades to the FB page have indicated otherwise.
You are told that you have to wait around 8 weeks before hearing back from the company.
This seems like a long time to wait.
Transcribing at GT
You are allowed 24 hours to complete all tasks you have taken.
This may seem like an eternity but some of the files are rather large.
This is why it is recommended to take one job at a time and complete it before taking another.
You should let people know if you need a week off so they can plan accordingly.
The pay at GT is based upon a number of things. For example, $.25 per audio minute transcribed.
You can expect to get paid once a month with PayPal.
With all of this being said, you have to wait to accumulate at least $100 before getting any payment.
I would like to take the time to express my disappointment in this feature.
This could take someone working part time a few months to do.
This is why people should get paid out regardless of their balance earnings.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB)
If there is one website that can provide a wealth of information about a business, it is BBB.
If the company is in the system, you can learn about their leadership, business rating and contact information.
There is much more to the website but I think you get the point.
BBB has graded GT with a perfect score, which is great news for people wanting to apply.
You can’t really argue with this although there is not much information besides this.
I would love to tell you about some reviews or comments that were left by employees or people that used GT services but I cannot.
This means you have to take their rating for face value.
One of the most common questions I get is “How do you know if the company is legit?”
There is no simple answer to this question but you can look at scam forums and see if there is anything on the company.
I did see a few forums on GT but the sites seemed to be filled with complaints about the $100 payment minimum.
Other than that, there were no complaints that I could fine.
This is a good thing but worth mentioning.
Using PayPal for Pay Outs
One of the clear indicators of legitimacy is the method of payments.
PayPal has a stellar reputation around the world and if a company uses their services, you can almost certainly assume that they are legit.
This is a fantastic way of getting paid because you can link your PayPal account directly to your banking account.
I have been using PayPal for over a year now and not one issue has ever come up.
Make sure you have an active account before you start the application process because I would hate for you to meet all the requirements and get caught up by something like this.
The Final Verdict
Before I tell you my personal feelings on the matter, I would like to you read a scam report on GT so you can at least see both sides of the story.
It is inevitable that some people are going to have a bad experience no matter how good the company is.
This is why you do whatever you can to avoid issues like the person did in the report.
Yes, I understand that missing payments is a damaging offense but there may be more to this than reported.
I have not seen any other issues like this recently.
Who knows, maybe this was a onetime thing or a misunderstanding.
There is no way that this company is a scam.
With that being said I cannot recommend this program unless you are a beginner and need the experience.
What I mean by this is the simple fact that the pay is below average.
The site is a great idea and I was excited to see how focused it was on building a company from the ground up.
It is always good to see people start a business and provide people with a way to get started in the online transcription game.
On the other hand, I was a little disappointed on how long people will have to wait to see if they get hired.
Waiting up to 8 weeks seems like a long time.
I would also like to point out that this company is registered as a sole proprietorship so I doubt the staff is very big.
You do have to give the owner a little credit.
I guess what I am trying to say is that you need to take this company for what it is at this point; a way for people to get their foot in the door.
I am sure that the company will see expansion and in a few years it might upgrade into a large transcription company.
If this sort of thing is not what you are looking for, there are other ways of making money online.
If you like working online, you can create your own online business just like the owner of GT did.
There are so many options and the process can be easier if you get legit advice from people that have done it before.
You can check out one of the free tutorials on YouTube or you can check out this review of Wealthy Affiliate.
WA is a great way of networking which will allow you to talk to people that started out just like you.
This does not mean that you will not have to put effort into the process, it means that you have the ability to plan ahead based on the experiences of others.
The best part about WA is the fact that you can start out with a FREE membership and then upgrade if you feel the need.
I hope this review has helped you in your decision.
