Once you achieve that, you can win 1.5 to 2 times the money you bet. The amount of money you can make here will depend on a lot of factors, but it seems possible to earn about $200 to $500 a year with this opportunity.

But is DietBet really a legitimate opportunity to make money or is it just a scam?

DietBet is a website that aims to make losing weight fun and motivate people to become more fit. They do this by making losing weight a game where money is the prize if you win.

You will basically be betting that you can lose weight in a given time period. If you lose, you will lose the money you bet. But if you win, you can earn up to 2 times the money you bet.

From what I’ve seen so far, I can say that this opportunity is very much legitimate. The website does provide an opportunity to make money from losing weight.

You just need to make a bet, achieve the target and make some money. You just have to make sure you are able to reach the target within the given time to win.

There are, however, some issues with this opportunity. The first one is that DietBet is not really a long-term money-making opportunity unless you plan on becoming a DietBet Coach.

There are also some concerns that DietBet doesn’t really teach people the proper habits of a healthy lifestyle. I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review of DietBet.

How Do You Make Money with DietBet?

DietBet offers several opportunities for you to make money, the main way to do it, though, is by betting on yourself to achieve a weight loss target within a given time frame.

You weigh in your current weight, set how much weight you are going to lose and how long it will take you to do it, set the amount that you will bet, and start exercising or dieting to lose weight.

To start, go to the DietBet website and create an account, which is free and easy to do so. You can sign up using your email or your Facebook account.

Once you are inside, you just need to choose the type of game that you will be participating in. There are a lot of games to choose from, but they all fall into three categories.

The categories are Kickstarter and Transformer. The third category is called Maintainer and it is for people who want to maintain their weight for a certain period.

The Kickstarter category consists of quick games that members can participate in. Games that you can find in this category will usually require that you lose 4% of your weight in 4 weeks.

You can join the existing Kickstarter game or create your own. You will be able to see the minimum bet you need to have before you can join the game. The money will be put in the pot before the game starts.

Then the ones who achieve the 4% goal in 4 weeks will share the total winnings. The Transformer category consists of games that require you to lose 10% of your weight in 6 months.

You can choose to pay the monthly or pay the entire amount before you begin. At the end of the 6 month period, the players who achieved the goal will share the pot equally.

For this category, the 10% goal will be broken down into rounds (months). Round  1 will be 3% weight loss, round 2 6% cumulative, round 3 8% cumulative, round 4 9% cumulative, round 5 10% cumulative.

The last round will be maintaining that 10% cumulative. The last category is Maintainer, where you will be required to maintain your initial weight for 12 months.

There will be a +2% allowance and a -4% body weight allowance. It will be broken down into 12 rounds. The first 10 rounds will be between -4% and +2%. For round 11, you need to be between -4% and +2% to win.

You also need to be within -4% and +5% to qualify for the next round. For round 12 you need to be between -4% and +2% to win.

DietBet divides the total pot, with one half spread across the first 11 rounds while the other half will be divided to whoever wins the grand prize in round 12. This means it’s okay to lose one round in this game.

When submitting your weigh-in, you will need to provide 2 photos to the website. One will be a full body photo of you standing on the scale wearing lightweight clothes.

You are not allowed to wear hats, belts, shoes, outwear, or coats. The other photo will be the scale displaying your weight together with your weigh-in word that the website provides when you weigh in.

You can choose to use Weigh-in Tokens to submit verified weigh-ins at any time. This will also automatically enter you into a weekly draw called Surprize. Items won here are only available to U.S. residents.

If you live outside the U.S., the item you win will be converted into cash. Take note that tokens, though, are not free.

You are allowed to play in more than one game at the same time, this will allow you to make more money if you are able to win.

In case you want to back out of a game, you can request a refund if you do it within 7 days after the game has started. Beyond that, you can’t request a refund.

Aside from betting on yourself, you can also invite other people to join the games that you are participating in. You will get an additional prize if you are able to recruit people to participate in the game you joined.

As a coach, you will basically be hosting games and earn extra money for it. The more people who join the game you host, the more money you will earn.

As for the earnings, winning at the Kickstarter game can earn you 1.5 to 2 times of the bet you put in. Of course, this is with the assumption that there will only be a few winners.  The more people win, the less money you will get.

For Transformer games, the company said that the average money that players take home for winning all 6 rounds is at $325 while winning the final round will yield $175 on the average.

If you become a DietBet coach and host some games, you will earn an additional 5% to 10% of the gross pot per game that you host.

After winning a game, the money you win will appear in your DietBet account. You can choose to keep it there and use it for betting or withdraw it via PayPal or check.

Check withdrawals are for U.S. residents only and there will be a $5 fee to cover the cost of writing and mailing the check, regardless of the amount.

As mentioned above, there are some issues with DietBet and the first one is that this is not a long-term money-making opportunity, unless you want to be a DietBet coach.

Once you have reached your target weight, there really won’t be any more motivation to keep on using the site. You can probably play the Maintainer game as often as you want.

But the motivation won’t be there anymore. There are also some concerns with the long-term benefits of DietBet since the exercising and dieting is still up to you, it’s not uncommon for people to try and just do a crash diet just to win.

This will really help them lose weight, but not in a healthy way. It would probably be better if they include certain exercises or partner with exercise apps to really instill a healthy lifestyle.

What I Like about DietBet

Now that we know what DietBet is and what it offers, it’s time to discuss what I like about this opportunity.

  • The first thing that I like about DietBet is that the website can really help you lose weight. Not only will you be motivated to make money, but you will also be motivated not to lose the money you bet on the game.
  • I also like that DietBet allows you to participate in more than one game, thus increasing your opportunity to make more money on the site. Plus, there are also other opportunities available to earn, so you could really earn good money here.
  • Another thing that I like is that becoming a member is easy and simple to do so. It is also available worldwide so anybody can join.

What I Dislike about DietBet

  • I also didn’t like that DietBet is not really a long-term income opportunity. Once you have reached your target weight, there’s really no more reason to use the app. And the other opportunities they have to make money won’t really entice you unless you are someone who is really into weight loss.

Do I recommend DietBet?

After learning more about DietBet, I can say that this app is recommended if your goal is just to lose weight.

If your goal is to look for an opportunity to earn extra income consistently, then this website is not what you are looking for.

DietBet is really designed more for people who are having a hard time losing weight, as their program and income opportunity centers on that.

If you don’t need to lose weight but is only looking for opportunities to make money, then this opportunity won’t really help you with that. You are better off looking for other money-making opportunities out there.
