When it comes to learning about internet marketing, there are a lot of programs and courses that you can find that will help you learn this topic and be able to use it to make money.
One such website that you can learn about internet marketing is called AWOL Academy. It’s a site that offers different online courses on internet marketing. Each course they offer will cost you money.
This website also has an affiliate program, which is also like an MLM program. You can earn commissions whenever you or your downlines are able to sell the courses that the site offers.
It’s hard to gauge how much money you will make with this opportunity as it is dependent on a lot of factors. But is AWOL Academy really a legit opportunity to learn internet marketing and make money or a scam?

AWOL Academy Seems to be a Legit Opportunity
AWOL Academy is a website that offers internet marketing courses that they say can help people build successful online businesses.
The word AWOL stands for Another Way Of Life, which is what the company wants to offer to people who are looking for ways to make money online.
Aside from internet marketing courses, AWOL Academy also has an affiliate program where they allow you to earn commissions from selling the different courses they have.
From what I’ve seen, the consensus for AWOL is mixed, but a majority seems to consider this website very much legit.
A lot of people are happy with their experience with the website and the things that they learned from the different courses it offers. This is despite the high price that AWOL is asking for their courses.
There are, however, some people who are not really happy with this website. They deem the courses to be too expensive, especially as a lot of what they teach can be researched online if you take the time to do so.
Some also complained that the lower priced courses don’t really contain a lot of information, as it focuses more on trying to upsell.
There are also those who complained that a lot of the strategies being offered focus more on paid advertising. I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review.
Who Uses AWOL Academy?
The AWOL Academy is designed for people who are looking to learn about internet marketing and be able to make money online.
The website provides several different courses about internet marketing, for instance, how to set up a sales funnel, how to sell through email marketing, and much more.
The courses, though, are not free as each one of them will have a certain fee and they are not cheap. Aside from learning internet marketing, the company also provides an opportunity to make money.
They have an affiliate program where you can earn commissions from selling the different courses they offer. This will also give you a chance to try out what you’ve learned from the website.
To be part of the affiliate program, you will need to enroll in the Traffic Academy course and pay a monthly fee.
In the next section, I’ll discuss in more detail the different courses they are offering and how much it costs. I’ll also provide information about the affiliate program.
What Does AWOL Academy Offer You?
AWOL Academy is a site that offers different internet marketing courses that you can enroll in. Each course will have a different topic to discuss and each will also have a different cost.
You can also make money with this website through its affiliate program. You can earn commissions for selling the different courses they offer.
The cheapest product they sell is the Internet Income Explained for $49. This course will provide an overview of the process of online selling and how internet marketing works.
The next course is the Pro Academy which provides a more hands-on introduction to internet marketing and talks about sales funnel as a strategy to acquire customers.
You will get 4 training modules, 25 videos and one coach call with this course. It will only cost $99. But, to fully experience the course, you will also be signing up for several services that will cost you monthly.
These services are LeadPages for $25 to $48 a month, GetResponse for $15 a month, and Click Magic for $12 to $17 a month.
The next course is the Inbox Academy, which will teach you how to sell through email marketing and how you can get subscribers to click and open the email that you send them.
This course will cost $447. The third course is the Conversion Academy, which will provide you with the secret to converting subscribers and visitors into actual buyers.
This course will concentrate more on teaching you how to do proper copywriting, presentations, videos, and more. This course will cost $1,797.
The fourth course they offer is the Traffic Academy which will teach you how to attract more leads into your sales funnel through social media like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and more.
You will also learn about CPA ads or cost-per-action ads in this course. These are ads where you will only pay whenever a visitor completes a certain action on the ad. The course costs $2,997.
The fourth course is the Masters Academy, which is an advanced class and is targeting internet marketers who are already making some money online but want to increase that.
This course focuses more on the big picture of internet marketing and will help you in topics such as money management, strategic tax planning, investing, and more. This course costs $5,497.
The last and most expensive course they offer is the AWOL Elite, which costs $17,997. This course will allow you to enjoy all of the different courses that AWOL offers.
On top of that, you also get a weekly webinar that the founders, Keala Kanae and Kameron George, are offering. The weekly webinar is the personal mentorship program of the founders. It lasts for 2 hours a week.
In case you are not happy with any of the courses you bought, you can request a refund. AWOL has a refund policy, where you can request a refund within 14 days of purchasing their product.
AWOL Academy also has an affiliate program and to be part of it, you need to purchase the Traffic Academy course. You will also be required to pay a monthly fee of $39.95 to remain part of the program.
As an affiliate, you will earn 30% commission on any AWOL courses that you are able to sell. If you have direct referrals, you can also earn 3% commission on any course that they are able to sell.
As mentioned above, not everyone was happy with AWOL Academy, as there are also a lot of people who have several complaints about them.
One of the complaints I saw was that AWOL Academy is charging a lot of money for information that you can get cheaply or for free on the internet if you just take the time to search for it.
Though it is true that a lot of the information they provide can be searched on the internet for free, it will take some time for you to be able to gather all of the information.
Besides, the coaching call and the personal mentorship that AWOL provides, is something that you won’t get for free online.
Another complaint that I saw is that a lot of the strategies that AWOL provides is mostly for paid advertising. This means that you will likely spend more money just to be able to follow the strategies they give you.
It would have been better if they also provided strategies without the need to use paid advertising. Some people who purchased the less expensive online course also complained that they didn’t really get a lot of information.
The course provided little information and focused more on trying to upsell the more expensive courses AWOL offers.
Though I understand the need to upsell, it would probably be better if they could lessen it to make the customers feel they were getting some value from what they bought.
What I Like about AWOL Academy
Now that we know more about AWOL Academy and what they bring, it’s time to talk about what I like about this opportunity.
- The first thing that I like about AWOL Academy is that they have a good Better Business Bureau rating. The website has a B+ rating, which means they have generally been a good company. There have been some complaints, but they are able to address most of them.
- Another thing that I like about AWOL Academy is that they have a 14-day refund policy. If you are not happy with what you get, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchasing the product. In this way, you are trying this course out without any risk on your part.
- I also like that AWOL Academy provides coaching to people who bought their products, regardless of how much the product is. One of the many things that people take for granted is the power of coaching and mentoring. This, I believe, is the best value that AWOL provides to their customers.
- It’s also good that AWOL Academy has an affiliate program to allow people to earn some money selling the products they are offering. It’s also a good way for their students to try the things they learned from AWOL.
What I Didn’t Like about AWOL Academy
Of course, there are also things that I didn’t really like about AWOL Academy, which I’ll be discussing here.
- The first thing that I didn’t like about AWOL Academy is that their strategies focus too much on paid advertising. I get that going with paid advertising is usually a good strategy, but it would be better if they could also provide a strategy for the free methods of internet marketing. Not everyone will have big funds outright to start spending on advertisements.
- I also didn’t like that AWOL Academy makes use of a lot of upsells in their lower priced courses. I get that they are trying to encourage people to upgrade and go for their more expensive products. But it would probably be better if they tone it down a bit and focus more on the information they are supposed to give on the course.
Do I recommend AWOL Academy?
After learning more about AWOL Academy and what it offers, I can say that this is something that I don’t really recommend to everybody.
As good as the products that they offer, not everyone will have the money to really afford it. Sure, they can probably afford some of the courses the website offers, but the strategies of focusing on doing paid ads may not be feasible yet for a lot of people. What AWOL Academy offers is more feasible for people who already have a lot of money to start.
But if you are someone with little cash and are looking for opportunities to learn about internet marketing and make money out of it, then this opportunity is not for you.
Even the affiliate program won’t be much help since you need to shell out $2,997 to begin and pay the monthly fee of $39.95 to be part of the program.
There are less expensive opportunities out there to learn about internet marketing and start a business out of it.
