Welcome to myBeachbody Review.
There are a lot of people who are focussed on looking and feeling good. This doesn’t only apply to the physical appearance of the face, but also of the body as well.
This is why plastic surgeons, as well as dermatologists are making a killing today. However, it’s not everyones preference to achieve the body they want by going under the knife or going through certain procedures.
There are still a lot of people that prefer to achieve that perfect beach body through old-fashioned diet and exercise.
However, diet and exercise has also gone through a revolution, as advancements in science and technology have brought about new ways and products that can help with your beauty and fitness goals.
These new available products and supplements are said to further improve how your body functions whenever you exercise or diet.
And the new methods of exercising or working out is said to allow you to achieve better results at a faster rate.
One such company that is known in the industry to provide health and wellness products and programs is Beachbody.
It is a multilevel marketing (MLM) company that sells and promotes several known workout programs, as well as performance supplements and products.
As this is an MLM company, they also provide an opportunity to make money. The amount of money you can likely make is dependent on several factors.
So, it’s not really easy to gauge how much money this opportunity could make for you. But is Beachbody really a legit company that can help you lose weight and make money?
Or is it just one of those scam programs that doesn’t really help you with anything and should be avoided at all costs?

Beachbody is a Legit Company that Can Help You Lose Weight and Make Money
Beachbody is an MLM company that focuses on the health, wellness, and losing weight industry. The company offers several workout programs that are said to help anyone achieve the type of body they want.
They also offer products and supplements that are said to help improve performance and also help with your fitness goals.
The company began in 1998 as a way to help educate people about how to properly work out. Through the years, they began offering various products that are related to health and fitness.
Aside from the fitness products, Beachbody also provides money-making opportunities through its MLM business model.
Based on what I’ve seen about the company so far, I can say that it is a legitimate company that does offer an opportunity to lose weight and also make money on the side.
The workout programs and products that they offer really do work, as long as you put in the time and effort to follow them.
As for the money-making opportunity, yes you can also make money with this company, but it won’t be very easy.
Though Beachbody is a legitimate company, especially since they’ve already been in business for 21 years, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t any issues or problems with this opportunity.
One of the issues about this opportunity is the monthly recurring fee you need to pay to stay as an active member. You also need to purchase products to qualify for certain ranks and bonuses.
Another issue is the fact that the chances of succeeding with this opportunity is really slim. There are also several people who have complained that there are a lot of coaches who are only interested in getting them to sign up.
I’ll discuss these issues and complaints in more detail as we progress further in this review of Beachbody.
Who Uses Beachbody?
Beachbody is designed for two types of people with one being those who are looking to lose some weight and achieve that beach-ready body that they are craving.
The other type are people who are looking for opportunities for a side business that can help them make money and supplement their main income.
If you are looking to lose weight and build muscle, the company has workout programs and products available that you can avail to help achieve your fitness goals.
The workout programs are said to be very good as long as you put in the time and effort to follow them. As for the products and supplements, reviews have been mixed so far.
So, this will likely depend on how your body reacts to it. Don’t worry, the company does have a 30-day money back guarantee so you can request a refund in case you’re not happy with the product.
If you’re someone who’s looking for an opportunity to make money, the company also offers this through their MLM business model.
You get to become one of their coaches where you get to earn commissions from selling the products and programs. To make more money, you’ll also need to build your own team of coaches to get bonuses.
In the next section, I’ll discuss in more detail how Beachbody works and provide brief information about the products and compensation plan.
How Does Beachbody Work?
Beachbody is an MLM company that offers an opportunity to lose weight and achieve your fitness goals, and to make money on the side.
The company offers various workout programs and products related to increasing performance and helping you lose weight.
Some of the popular and successful workout videos that Beachbody has put out include Insanity, Shift Shop, Body Beast, Hip Hop Abs, P90X, 80 Day Obsession, and much more.
If you were watching some of the late-night infomercials on TV, you’ve likely came across some of these workout programs.
Aside from the workout programs, the company also offers several nutritional products and supplements. Their products include Shakeology, Energize, Recharge, Hydrate, and much more. But the most well-known product is Shakeology.
The company even sells fitness gear and apparel, but the workout videos and programs are their primary offering and these are the ones you’ll likely need to push to really make money with this company.
Each of the products they offer is designed to help you in certain ways during your workout activity. They have a product that can help build muscle or make your recovery from a workout faster.
There are also products that can help burn fat, and so on. This allows you to combine the products you’ll need for the workout that you are getting.
Beachbody even has nutrition programs, where they will provide you with a meal and diet plan to help achieve your fitness goal.
Some of the ingredients that the company uses for its products include caffeine, pomegranate extract, quercetin, beta-alanine, and much more.
These ingredients are not present in all of the products as each has its own different ingredients. These are just some of the main and natural ingredients that the company uses.
It is important to note that there’s a possibility that you might feel some side effects in using their products.
Side effects could include diarrhea, headaches, upset stomach, bloating, gas, dizziness, itchiness, and more. You should consult with your doctors first before trying them out or starting with a workout routine.
The cost of the products will vary and you can purchase them in bundles or individually.
Now for the money-making portion of the company.
In order to make money with Beachbody, you need to become one of their coaches. Now, the company didn’t always have a money-making opportunity.
It was only in 2007 when they created the Team Beachbody to make use of network marketing to market and sell their products.
The company achieved success through this method, as their 2016 income statement showed that they earned $863 million. But can the same be said for their coaches?
Now, to become a coach, you’ll need to pay a registration fee of $39.95 and a monthly recurring fee of $15.95 a month.
As a member, the first thing you’ll get are discounts on Beachbody products. I believe the discount is 25% on all the company’s products.
So the first earning potential is through retail sales where you can pocket the difference between the retail price and wholesale price. This means you can earn a 25% discount on sales of the product.
You also get 40% commission if a customer purchases a Beachbody on Demand membership.
Beachbody also has the Shakeology Fast Start, where you can earn $20 whenever someone you have personally enrolled to the program purchases a Shakeology Home Direct Starter Pack.
You will also earn an extra $100 if you are able to sell at least one Shakeology pack every week for 5 straight weeks.
You can also earn a one time bonus if one of your personally sponsored coaches gets a Beachbody Challenge Pack, which costs about $140 to $295, depending on the kind of pack.
Now, the company uses a binary system for its compensation model. What this means is that when you join, your business center will have 2 legs that you need to fill, the left leg and the right leg.
When someone joins directly under you, you’ll have the option to place them, either on the left or right leg. This is important to note since having at least one member on each leg will upgrade your rank to Emerald.
To keep your rank as an emerald active, you’ll need at least 50 personal volume (PV) points every 4 weeks. You basically earn PV points every time you purchase a product.
The number of points earned depends on the product you purchase. As an Emerald member, you get to earn $14 each week as long as you meet the requirements.
To qualify for the team cycle bonus, not only will you need to be an Emerald member, but you’ll also need a team volume (TV) points of 300.
This means that the people under you would need to purchase enough products to reach the required TV points. The division of points should also be in a way that 1/3 of the total TV needs to be on the weak leg.
This means that the one leg of your business center will need at least 100 TV points in order for you to qualify. You won’t qualify if only one of your legs has earned the points or if one leg doesn’t have at least 100 TV points.
The beauty of the team cycle bonus is that the company allows 96 team cycles per day. This means that you can possibly earn $14, 96 times in a single day.
The bonus amount will also increase, as your rank increases. But it also means the requirements needed to qualify will also increase.
Once you reach a certain rank, you’ll also be able to qualify for the Matching Bonus. You basically earn a bonus whenever your personally sponsored coach earns a Team Cycle Bonus.
You need to at least reach the Ruby level to qualify for this bonus. As a Ruby rank, you get to earn 5% Matching Bonus. Reaching Star Diamond level gives you 10% Matching Bonus.
Speaking of Star Diamond, once you reach this rank, you can also qualify for the Star Diamond Leadership Bonus.
Beachbody will pay 2% of the company’s entire TV points every 3 months to their top performing coaches. This is a huge bonus if you ever qualify for it.
Their compensation plan provides a lot of opportunities for you to make a lot of money with the company. But is success easily achieved with this company?
What Are People Saying about Beachbody?
The reviews about Beachbody have mostly been mixed as not everyone has had a good experience with the products that the company offers.
But everyone does agree that this is not a scam, the workout programs are great, and that the making money with this opportunity is really hard.
As mentioned above, there are really some issues with Beachbody and chief among them is the monthly fee that you need to pay to remain active.
The company has a $15.95 monthly fee that you need to pay. The company says it is for administrative fees like maintaining the website.
But that’s not the only expense you need to worry about. As I mentioned above, once you reach Emerald rank, you’ll need at least 50 PV points every month.
This means you also need to purchase a product every month to maintain your ranking. And if you don’t maintain your rank, you don’t qualify for the Team Cycle Bonus.
This could be a problem for a lot of people as the monthly fees you need to pay can add up and will likely eat away at your earnings and profits.
But what if you don’t earn anything? Then this means you only lose money. The low success rate is actually one of the issues with this company.
Now, this is not really a knock on Beachbody as almost all MLM companies have this issue. The company’s 2016 income disclaimer showed that only 51.05% of their coaches earned a commission or bonus.
And this is only based on members who are enrolled in the company for the entire year. So the figures will likely go down even further if they include those who joined at some point in the year.
Out of those who earned, only those at the Star Diamond level really made good earnings, averaging $109,225 per year. Next is the Diamond level, which averages at $14,671 or $1,222.58 per month.
Ruby members only averaged $10,271, while Emerald members only averaged $3,065 earnings per year. I’m sure the figures for the following is not much different or it could even be worse.
This is because the MLM model is really built more for the company than for the individuals. Sure, there are some who succeed at MLM, but they are the exception and not the norm.
So, don’t really expect to make a lot of money with this opportunity. Another issue with this opportunity is that there are a lot of complaints about the coaches.
A lot of people feel that the coaches of Beachbody are really just focused more on making money instead of actually helping people with their fitness goals.
There are various complaints about coaches only showing interest at the beginning or are constantly persuading you to purchase certain products.
Though they will say that the product is really beneficial, the reality is that certain company products offer bonuses, hence their reasons for persuading you to purchase it.
This is also not a new problem as a lot of MLM opportunities have the same problems. The way the compensation plan is normally set up is the main culprit for these kinds of issues.
This is seen in Beachbody where they offer a lot of bonuses if your personal downlines purchase certain products. This is why you can expect your uplines to try and convince you to purchase these products in order for them to earn.
Some coaches will also only try to convince you to sign up so they can qualify for certain bonuses. Once you’re in, they don’t really care and just leave you to figure it out on your own.
It’s important that you also learn about how coaches mentor their new recruits since one of the keys to succeeding in MLM is the mentorship, guidance, and training that your uplines will give you.
What I Like about Beachbody
Now that we know what Beachbody is and what it can offer, it’s time to discuss what I like about this opportunity.
- One of the things that I like about Beachbody is the fact that it is already an established company. Even before it started offering MLM opportunities in 2007, the company has already established itself as one of the leaders in the fitness and wellness industry. The fact that it is still operating and thriving after 21 years in business, shows that this is a stable company and you won’t have to worry about it shutting down or running away from its responsibilities to both customers and coaches.
- I also like that Beachbody offers a 30-day money back guarantee in case you are not happy with the product that you purchase. This is good as it allows you to try their products or programs without any risks on your part. You can request a refund as long as it is within 30-days.
What I Dislike about Beachbody
Of course, not everything about Beachbody is good and dandy, as there are also several things about this opportunity that I don’t really like.
- The first thing that I don’t like about Beachbody is the fact that there are monthly fees that you will need to shoulder in order to keep your account active. Not only does the company have an administrative fee of $15.95 per week, but they also require you to purchase products monthly, especially if you reach the Emerald level. These monthly fees are going to be a major problem, especially if you don’t earn enough or you don’t earn anything at all. This means you are only bound to lose money with this opportunity instead of making it.
- I’m also not a fan of the fact that the compensation plan of Beachbody is more favorable for uplines. Once you become a member, your upline will likely try to persuade you to purchase certain products, telling you of the many benefits it can provide you and how it can help achieve your fitness goals. In reality, though, they are really only doing this because they will get a commission from it if you purchase it. You can also expect them to ask you to purchase more products, especially if they are trying to qualify for a Team Cycle Bonus. This makes it hard to determine if they really trying to help you or just wanting to earn more money for themselves.
- I’m also not a fan of the low success rate of Beachbody coaches. The company posted in its income disclaimer that close to half of its coaches don’t really earn anything. And out of those who did earn, only a very small portion earned a decent income from this opportunity. This means a big percentage of the coaches only earned minuscule amounts or even lost money as there are monthly fees to be paid. This is not a very encouraging sign, and is something that almost all MLM opportunities experience.
Do I Recommend Beachbody?
After learning more about Beachbody and what it can really bring to the table, I can say that this is an opportunity that I don’t really recommend.
You could try out their workout programs as a lot of people are saying they’re really good. You could also give some of their products a try and just request a refund if you don’t like them.
But as a money-making opportunity, it might be better to look for a better opportunity.
For one, you have to deal with several monthly fees just to keep and maintain your level and to keep your account active.
In this regard, you’re already at a disadvantage because you are required to spend money monthly. This means a portion of your earnings will already go to your monthly expense.
And if you don’t earn anything, you will lose money. Another reason is the fact that the compensation plan favors the upline.
Whenever you purchase certain products, your upline earns commissions. Achieving a certain number of PV points also means that your upline benefits more than you.
This means you also have to focus a large part of your business building on recruiting people under you and encouraging them to purchase products as well.
If you are not someone who likes recruiting people and persuading them to make a purchase, then this opportunity is not for you.
Lastly, I don’t really recommend MLM opportunities as their business model is not favorable to distributors.
Sure, there are a lot of opportunities to earn, but the requirements to qualify for these opportunities are not easy to achieve.
You also need to possess certain skills like selling, marketing, recruiting people, and the ability to motivate them. Luck will also play a role in achieving success in MLM.
There are just too many factors and challenges that you need to overcome to ensure your success in this kind of opportunity.
This is why I always recommend that you look for other opportunities. There are a lot of better and easier opportunities to make money than MLM.
