When most people think about learning affiliate marketing, one of the most asked questions I get from them is, how long does it take to become a successful affiliate.
Now obviously this will different hugely between people, because everyone has different measures when it comes defining success. Everyone brings different life experience to the table and everyone has different life experiences that all contributes to the success of your business.
Having said that, one question I ask people is, whether they have enough time to dedicate to creating an online business.

How much time can you dedicate to your business?
Most people who want financial freedom underestimate the amount of time they need to dedicate to creating a business.
Make no mistake, it does take time to create an online business just like any kind of business, whether it be online or off.
The dedication of time is apportioned into learning and executing.
So learning what you need to do, and then doing what you need to do.
Some folks are okay learning what to do, but then never get around to implementing what they need to. Or doing enough of what they need to do.
How do you find the time?
If you were to honestly look into you everyday tasks, you will find a number of areas where you could find an extra 10 – 15 minutes. An extra 10 minutes here and there can really add up to quite a lot of time.
Watch less TV.
Don’t go out to the movies as much.
Spend less time on Facebook.
Spend less time on Youtube.
Another area where you could gain productive time is while you’re commuting to work.
If your commute to work takes a big chunk of time out of your day, then you could use that time more productively by completing some training lessons that I outline in the blueprint while commuting back and forth to work everyday.
So anytime you do have available, use it wisely and productively.
How much experience do you have
If you already have experience in affiliate marketing then your learning curve will be much smaller than say a person who has only recently heard of affiliate marketing.
However, even if you’re a newbie it doesn’t mean that it’s going to take you more time to become successful as a person who already has experience.
It’s actually not unusual for someone to leap several steps ahead over a more experienced affiliate marketer simply because they are working with a more robust blueprint and mentor than someone who has learnt by trial and error.
Furthermore, life experience can be your greatest asset, because you’ll be able to draw on this experience and use it in your marketing.
Age can sometimes be a hinderance in some professions, but in online marketing, it can be a BIG asset.
Do you have a passion?
Having something that you’re passionate about can also shorten the time it takes to become successful online.
If you’re passionate about a particualr subject then you’d probably know a number of people in that field. Also, you’d have a keen understanding of what those people think about, their wants and their needs.
From there it’s a case of giving people what they want.

Your financial goals
If your idea of success is financially motivated, then success will be determined by a dollar amount.
Some people think earning $100 a day is success, and it is, especially if you’ve never done it before, whilst others may think that earning $3000 per day is success.
The best way to approach this is to start of small, with an amount that is conceivably and then work your way up from there.
Action Vs Training
Now you’re not going to reach any goal unless you have both of these things – action and the right training.
In order to get take the shortest road possible to achieving your financial goals, you have to 1) get the right blueprint, I have talked about this many times in this blog, because having the right blueprint will get you to your destination a lot quicker. 2) you have to do enough of what is going to work. Most people know what to do, but then fail to execute.
Not entirely sure why, but I guess it’s just the same thing when it comes to weight loss, most people know that if they eat less calories than they expend throughout the day then they’ll lose weight.
Online marketing is pretty much the same thing.
Their are some tasks that are pretty simple to do, but a lot of people just won’t do em.
So how long does it take to become successful?
So at the end of the day, success comes down to a individuals interuptation of success, how much experience you already have in online marketing, how much knowledge and expertize you have in a particular niche and how much action you’re willing to take.
It would be a cop-out if I just left it like that.
Essentially, you have to give yourself at least six months before you call it quits on the whole affiliate marketing game.
Now you also have to understand that there are a number of different types of affiliate marketing online.
You can go down the paid advertising route or the free traffic (search engine) route.
One will cost you a substantial amount of money to get started, but you’ll see results a lot sooner, whilst the other doesn’t cost much to get started, but will cost you in time and effort and you’ll see results later.

I have a question:- I am working full time in a company, and have time only after i m free from office. Is it still possible to learn and grow devoting my spare time in AM?
A lot of people start off part-time and then work their way into a full-time income.
It was an informative article.
It’s been two months I am working on my website where my prime way of making money is affiliate marketing. It has been a learning curve for me and as you have mentioned that we should give it atleast 6 months before we make any conclusions, which has boosted my morale because I was afraid that even though if I am receiving a traffic (for a 2 months old site) and why am I not making money.
