The intriguing part about this opportunity is that there are a lot of people who claim that the MLM companies they have joined have helped them achieve their financial goals and dreams in life.
These are usually the most common recruiting tactic and pitch that members have to attract new people into the program.
To some extent, what they’re saying is true, as there really are people who have become rich because of their success with MLM. The problem is that these people are usually the exception.
Not everyone is lucky enough to get rich with MLM. Heck, not everyone even experiences decent success with MLM. There are a lot of factors that contribute to a person’s success in MLM.
And the biggest contributing factor of all will be the company that is providing that MLM opportunity. For this review, we’ll be discussing a company called Rodan and Fields.
It’s a skin care company that offers an MLM opportunity for people who are looking for opportunities for a side business.
Like any MLM you get to earn from retail profits and from the commissions achieved by you and your team. You can also earn bonuses if you and your team achieved certain sales quota.
And like any other MLM opportunity, the money you can make will depend on a lot of factors. You can earn hundreds to thousands of dollars a month if you are lucky.
If you are unlucky, you can only earn a few dollars or even nothing at all. But is the opportunity that Rodan and Fields offer really legit or is it just a scam?

Rodan and Fields is A Legit MLM Company that Pays
Rodan and Fields is a skin care company that has been in business for more than 16 years. It was established by dermatologists Dr. Kate Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields.
The company tried to sell its skin care products at high-end department stores before deciding to go through the MLM route.
As a member of this MLM opportunity, you will basically be able to make money selling the products they are offering and recruiting new people to join you.
You get to earn profits from the sales and commissions of your downlines’ sales. You can also earn bonuses for reaching certain sales quota. From what I’ve seen so far, I can say that Rodan and Fields is legit.
The company does offer an opportunity for you to make money through their MLM program and you know they are a reputable company, considering they have been operating for almost 2 decades.
However, like with most MLM opportunities out there, it’s not easy to actually make money with Rodan and Fields. One issue with that is the high price of the products the company sells.
There’s also the issue with saturation, considering that the company has been in business for decades, it means there are now thousands of consultants promoting the product.
I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review of Rodan and Fields.
Who Uses Rodan and Fields?
Rodan and Fields is designed for two types of people with one being the people who are looking for skin care products to use and the other types are people who are looking for opportunities to make money on the side.
For people looking for skin care products, the company offers a variety of products that are designed to take care of your skin or address certain skin problems.
It’s a big help that the company is created by two dermatologists, so you know that the products you are purchasing are quality products.
The company also has a Preferred Customer (PC) program, where you can join and have a chance to enjoy 10% savings and more convenient and flexible delivery options.
Now, if you are looking to make money, then becoming a Consultant is what you are looking for. As a consultant, you get profits from selling the products the company offers.
You also get commissions from the sales of people you recruit, plus bonuses for achieving certain sales targets. Becoming a member, though, is not free.
I’ll discuss in the next section the registration process, as well as how you can make money with Rodan and Fields.
How Do You Make Money with Rodan and Fields?
As an MLM company, Rodan and Fields offer two ways to make money, one is through the profits you can earn from selling the company’s products.
The other way is through the commissions you can earn from the sales that the people you recruit achieves. The company also has bonuses available if you and your team are able to reach certain sales targets.
The company has two memberships, one is the PC and the other is the Consultant. As a PC you get 10% savings and more options for deliveries. You just need to pay a one-time fee of $19.95 to be a PC.
As a Consultant, you’ll be able to make money with Rodan and Fields. To join, you need to choose the type business kit that you will get. The cheapest would be $45, while the most expensive would be $995.
The business kit comes with several products that you can sell and some marketing materials to help you get started. The more expensive the kit, the more products and materials will be included.
The first way to earn with the company is through retail profits. What this means is that whenever people buy products using your link, you get a commission from it.
You can earn up to 33% in profits for sales made. You can also earn up to 16% profit when a customer becomes a PC using your link.
Next would be the Consultant commissions, where you earn a percentage whenever Consultants or PCs you recruit makes a purchase.
To qualify for this commission, you need to have a qualifying volume of products worth 100 points from your own account. Now, Rodan and Fields provide the corresponding volume for the products that they sell.
Some products have a qualifying volume of 6 points, while others are worth as high as 900 points. Depending on the product, this requirement can easily be achievable.
The next earnings you can get is the Personal Team commissions where you can earn a 5% commission on all the volume that your team generates.
In order to qualify for this commission, you need to achieve the level of Executive Consultant first. To do this you need to be an active member and your team would need to generate 600 points of qualifying volume in a month.
The last is the Generation commission where you can earn a 5% commission on Generation 1 in your downline. This means that there is also an Executive Consultant under you.
Rodan and Fields also have additional incentives from time to time and the requirements for getting these varies. Some incentives can be in the form of a cash bonus, a car incentive, and more.
Though the company has a lot of ways to earn, as mentioned above, it is not really an easy thing to do. Yes, you are just basically required to reach certain sales quota to get the commissions.
But that is actually easier said than done. The products that the company is selling are pricier compared to other brands so not everyone will be buying them.
Then there’s also the fact that the market is becoming saturated already, Rodan and Fields already have thousands of consultants all promoting the same product.
So your chances of making money with this opportunity becomes more challenging.
What I Like about Rodan and Fields
Now that we know more about Rodan and Fields and what they offer, it’s time to discuss what I like about this opportunity.
- The first thing that I like about Rodan and Fields is that the cost of membership is very affordable. You only need to spend at least $45 to be a Consultant in this company and start making money. This is affordable, especially if you compare it to other MLM opportunities that charge hundreds or thousands of dollars for the membership.
- Another thing that I like about Rodan and Fields is that it provides you with an option to just be a Preferred Customer instead of a Consultant. Not everyone who joins MLM is in it for the money, as there are also a number of people who become members because of the discount of the products. So it’s a good thing that the company provides that option at more than half the price, as you only need to pay $19.95 to be a Preferred Customer and enjoy savings.
- I also like that Rodan and Fields focus more on selling the products than on recruiting new members. This means that the company is not like a pyramid scheme where recruitment is the best way for you to make more money. With the way the compensation plan is set up, you and your team would really need to sell the products to be able to make more money.
What I Dislike about Rodan and Fields
Of course, there are also things about Rodan and Fields that I didn’t really like, which I’ll be discussing in this section of the review.
- The first thing that I didn’t like about Rodan and Fields is that the compensation plan they have is a bit complicated. Not everyone will understand outright the compensation plan of this MLM opportunity, particularly the requirements to be able to earn commissions. This is due to the required qualifying volume that you would need to achieve in order to qualify for the commission. And with so many products to sell and each with different points for the qualifying volume, it might take a lot of people a while before they understand it.
- Another thing that I didn’t like about Rodan and Fields is that making a decent amount of money with this opportunity is a bit of a challenge. The product itself will not be easy to sell because of its high price. Then you also have to contend with the difficult requirements to qualify for certain commissions. Lastly, there’s also the challenge of having a saturated market since the company already has a lot of Consultants.
Do I Recommend Rodan and Fields?
After learning more about Rodan and Fields and what they bring to the table, I can say that it is really not an opportunity that I can recommend for everyone.
Though Rodan and Fields seem like a good opportunity, considering their products are good despite being pricey, MLM is really not an opportunity for everyone.
It will really take certain kinds of people to succeed in this industry. First, you have to be an outgoing person who is not afraid to talk to anyone, especially strangers.
Then it would also help if you are skilled in sales and marketing. Lastly, you need to possess good leadership skills, especially when it comes to motivating people.
These skills, together with some luck, are what you will need to succeed in MLM. This is also the reason why only a few people can really become rich with this opportunity.
If you feel you have what it takes to succeed in MLM, then, by all means, give it a try. But if you are hesitant about it, then I suggest that you look for a different opportunity. You may be wasting your time and money if you try it out.
