Is Affiliate Marketing Dead in 2021?

If affiliate marketing is dead, then I missed the memo.

Actually, what initially brought this thought on by many “would be” affiliate marketers is the fact that the competition in affiliate marketing has seemingly sky rocketed recently.

But let me tell you, it has been this way for many years now.

I remember back in 2012, people were suggesting that affiliate marketing was dead, but there were still a lot of people making money in the industry. Those people are still thriving in this industry today.

If you’re a beginner (just starting out) and don’t know how it works, then it is going to be a lot more difficult to break into the ‘scene’ without the proper guidance.

Even some really experienced affiliate marketers found their income cut off overnight with the relatively recent Google Penguin and Panda updates,  Penguin 2.0 and more recently Penguin 2.1,  Hummingbird and all of the other Google animals.

Which got me thinking about the affiliate business model and the obvious flaws it has for long term residual income.

All you have to do is ask Tyler Cruz who recently went from earning a 5 figure monthly income, to earning a BIG FAT zero overnight. Read his unfortunately story here.

But this sort of thing is happening to more and more to affiliates everyday, simply because they are investing in the wrong business model, which could be the reason why so many are throwing in the towel.

There is a much better model and I will get into that soon, but first …

Let’s Take A Different View On It

I was having a beer with a friend of mine the other day, he runs an offline business, and we talked about some of the challenges we faced in our respective businesses. One of the terms that kept coming up was ‘now money’.

Now money relates to quick or fast cash that you can use NOW, to pay bills, groceries etc, but doesn’t have any long term residual affect. Meaning you have to keep putting in the effort to generate it or it stops.

And as I thought about it, I realized that this is what the business model is for most affiliates. The sales you make are one-off-sales, unless the product has a continuity plan built in.

This is cool and everything, but what happens if that source is ‘cut’ off, like so many affiliates experienced with the update?

Well, they either scramble to find another source of traffic to make more sales, or try and figure out the new algorithm, so that they can rank again, or they quit and get a J.O.B.

Do you get a slight sense that I might be speaking from experience?

Like a lot of online marketers I wasn’t immune to the wrath of the Google zoo animals, but I opted to try and figure out the new algorithm.

So you being on this page is a testament that I might be heading in the right direction – right? Check out my story here.

So cool, I’m back in the game, BUT, there’s still a problem – this fixes the ‘now money’ issue, but not the long term issue.

Well, I went searching and what I found was that there was one business model that not only gave me the ‘now money’, but also gave me long term residual income. I also found that this business model made more millionaires than any other business – period.

Furthermore, I am still able to market my business the same way I do now, but get paid like 10 times as much.

This business model is frown upon by a lot of affiliates, (I used to be one of them) because of the way it has been marketed in the past, but if you sit down with a freshly made cup of mocca, and really ponder over it, you will see it makes sense.

I know I am really spinning this out, and I am doing so, because I want you to see the benefits up front, before you trash the thing when I finally reveal it.

Ya see, this business model has been around for ages, but it just hasn’t been conducive to the way affiliate marketers ‘roll’. Until NOW.

What if I told you that, you can basically do what you are doing now and get paid not only a commission for the sale, but a long term residual income.

Okay, so the business model that I’m talking about is MLM – I know, kinda sucks right.

And in the past it used to suck balls, because you had to recruit you mom, your dad, your brother and sister and any other relative you had.

But the Internet has made it so that your audience can be more than just your immediate family. In fact it means that you don’t even have to recruit them at all if you know how to drive targeted traffic to an offer.

You don’t even have to pick up the phone.

I used to send people to an MLM offer, but I found that they wouldn’t be able to succeed because they didn’t know how to drive targeted traffic.

Luckily I found a community that teaches exactly that – it’s called Wealthy Affiliate. You might have heard of them, if not then peep my review here.
