From what I’ve seen so far, I can say that CardCash is a legit opportunity to make money selling your unwanted gift cards.
The company does buy your unwanted gift cards and you’ll be able to make money at less than its original value. You will be paid via check that will be mailed to your home or by PayPal.
There are, however, some issues with this gift card marketplace. The first issue is that the site doesn’t always pay you up to 92% of your gift card’s value.
There are also some complaints about the value of the gift card you bought, disappearing right after the guarantee period ends. I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review.

The CardCash website is designed for two types of people with one being those who don’t want gift cards and are looking for opportunities to sell them.

Before you can begin, you first need to be a member of CardCash. It is simple and easy to register, you can choose to do so via email or sign up with your Facebook or Google account. Once done, you can start selling the gift cards that you no longer want.
The company also has a referral program. You can receive a $5 credit for every person that you refer who becomes a member. The person you refer will also receive a $5 credit after they sign up through your referral link.
Now, the process of selling your gift card is simple and easy to follow. First, you just need to identify the brand of the gift card you are selling and how much it is. Then, the company will give you an offer for the card.
The money you can get will vary, but the card’s brand will likely play a big factor. But don’t expect to get the full amount, as the company says that they will only pay up to 92% of the gift card’s value.
So if you are selling a $100 Amazon gift card, you can only expect to get as much as $92 for it. If you accept the offer that they give, you can choose three payment options.
First, you can get paid by check and the company will mail it to your home address. You can also choose to get paid via AHC transfer or via PayPal. You can expect your payment in 1 to 2 days.
There will be times where you are going to be required to mail the physical gift card to CardCash. But most of the time this won’t be required as you can just enter the card number and pin on the website.
The site will provide you with details on how you can give the card to the company, just follow the instructions. The company requires that you provide your credit card number when you are selling a gift card.
They say this is to verify your identity and to protect their customers from fraudulent gift cards. It is important to note that they don’t accept gift cards with expiration or promotional cards that will only work on certain locations or products.
You can also choose to exchange your gift card for a brand new gift card. The company says that this is the best bang for the buck option they have.
Probably because you will get a gift card of equal value to the card that you are selling. Buying gift cards is pretty straight forward, you just need to choose the available gift cards that they have.
It already contains the discounts to let you know how much you will need to pay. You can pay via credit card, Bitcoin, or PayPal. Gift cards are given a 45-day guarantee.
This means that within 45 days, you need to report to CardCash if there’s a problem with the card you have bought. They will refund your money if they confirm a discrepancy.
As mentioned above, there are some issues with this company, though. One of the issues is that the 92% value seems like just a marketing ploy.
A lot of people who transacted with the company say that they have never received the 92% value on any of the cards that they are have sold.
Most of the time, the offer is way below that value, with some even experiencing an offer of only 50% of the value. So don’t expect to reach an offer that is 92% of your gift card’s value.
Another complaint about CardCash is that the balance of the gift card you purchased from them tends to disappear quickly.
Now, this is not going to a be problem since they do have a 45-day guarantee. But if you experience this after the guarantee period, you won’t be able to request a refund.
So always ensure that the balance of your gift card is used up within 45 days to avoid having your balance suddenly disappear.
I also noticed that a lot of people complain that CardCash’s customer service is useless. A lot of people, both buyers and sellers, who experienced problems, mentioned that the customer service was no help at all.
What I Like about CardCash
Now that we know more about CardCash and what they offer, it’s time to discuss what I like about this website.
- The first thing that I like about CardCash is that they provide several payment options when it comes to getting your money after selling a gift card. I like this because not everyone has a PayPal account or prefer to get their money via PayPal. So having an option for getting it via check and mailed to your home is a big plus.
- Another thing that I like about CardCash is that they made it easy for you to sell your unwanted gift cards. You don’t have to worry about sending the physical card to them, as the site will just need the important details to get the card. Though they don’t usually reach the 92% of your card value, there are some sellers who deem the offer the company has as fair value for the gift card.
What I Dislike about CardCash
Of course, there are also some things about CardCash that I didn’t really like, which I’ll be discussing here.
- The first thing that I didn’t like about CardCash is that their customer service is not the best, especially when it comes to addressing issues or problems. Sure, it’s a plus that they actually respond or answer calls, but it would have been a bigger positive if they are really able to do something about the issues and concerns.
- I also didn’t like that the value that CardCash offers for your gift card is not always satisfactory. Yes, there are some who are happy with what the site offers to pay, but there are also other who are not. You just probably need to be lucky to get offers and also sell gift cards from more well-known brands.
- Another thing that I didn’t like is there have been a lot of complaints that the balances of gift cards bought from CardCash tend to disappear, especially after the 45 day guarantee period. This means that you will really have to use the card within 45 days after you purchase it. This is an unfortunate situation because this means that using the card as a gift could be problematic.
Do I Recommend using CardCash?
After learning more about CardCash and what it can really bring, I can say that it is a site that I recommend you check out, especially if you have gift cards you want to get rid of.
The opportunity to make money with your unwanted gift card is really something that is hard to pass up as it is better to get some money for it rather than nothing. This is why I recommend that you check out this site and see if the value you can get for your gift card is enough.
Just remember not to expect to always get 92% of its value, as this seems to be a hard rate to achieve. Other than that, it’s hard to really recommend this site, especially when it comes to buying gift cards.
The many complaints of disappearing balances is a bit alarming so you might want to avoid experiencing this problem yourself.
Besides, there are a lot of ways to earn gift cards for free, so why would you need to pay for them in the first place?
