A lot of people spend a huge amount of time on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They use these sites to keep connected with their friends and loved ones even if they are far away.
They use it to post pictures and videos, share stories, or just chat with them. Some people use social media as a way to be updated about the latest happenings or as a promotional tool.
Whatever use you may have, it’s a fact that social media has become an integral part of people’s daily lives, even if they don’t really make money out of it.
What if that can change? What if there’s a way for you to make money posting pictures or videos, liking a post, or sharing it?
This is what the Empowr website is offering. It is a form of social networking site that promises that you can earn money for doing various activities on the website.
It’s not really clear how much you can possibly earn, as the site and their members can’t really tell properly how much money you can make. So it’s hard to gauge its monetary value.
But is this site really legit or just another scam that will waste your time?

The Empowr Website Seems like a Scam that You Should Be Cautious Of
Empowr is a social media network site that claims to provide you with earning opportunities. It’s hard to understand from the site itself how that works, but research shows that you can earn by just sharing posts, commenting, and so on.
It’s also not clearly stated how much you will get, and even members are having a hard time discussing this themselves.
It’s hard to say if the site is legit or a scam as there are people claiming it’s legit and people claiming it’s a scam. Yes, the company has been around for 15 years, but there’s an issue with that longevity.
Empowr is actually a rebranding of several start-ups. This site used to be known as Fanbox, which also used to be known as ProjectUplift.
These rebrandings are usually not a good sign, as it somehow shows that the founders needed to change the name and brand of the company to disassociate itself from its other brands that had issues.
It’s also hard to find proof that people are really earning the kind of money that Empowr promises, which is why I’m saying this site is closer to being a scam than legitimate.
As for how much you can earn, you will see in this review why it gets really confusing to provide an actual value of how much you can possibly get with this site.
Who is the Empowr Website Made for?
The Empowr website is designed for people who love hanging out in social network sites and are also looking for ways to earn some money.
Empowr is basically a social network site where you can post pictures, videos, links, etc. to allow your friends and networks on the site to view them.
You can also comment, like, or share posts that are made by your friends or network. It’s different from other social network sites in that you can earn doing all of these things.
Empowr said that they have an algorithm that calculates the value of your activity on the site and they will send the money to your account accordingly. You will have to wait a while, though, before you can cash out your money.
How Do You Earn Money with Empowr?
The compensation plan of Empowr is probably the hardest information to find on the website and even from some of its members.
Even those who have tried the site themselves still can’t really determine how much money you can make with this social network site.
Basically, the social network site will pay you for the activities that you do on the platform. This includes posting, commenting, liking, sharing, and so on.
You can also earn by selling and promoting products or services through their marketplace or becoming a success coach and teach other people how to earn in Empowr.
It’s not clear, though, how much you will be earning for doing these activities, as the site only says they have an algorithm that will calculate your activity and attach a value to it.
Your earnings will be sent to your Empowr account. The amount you can get will vary, as you can likely earn as little as $0.60 to $2 per post and there’s really no way to tell how the amount is calculated.
Some people claim that they are getting notifications that they earned about $200 to $400 from Empowr by just using the app for a few days.
There are even others who claimed they earned money, even if they didn’t even use the app. There are, however, several problems here, especially when it comes to cashing out.
First off, it’s important to know that you are spending Ad Credits when you post something on the social network. This is something that Empowr conveniently left out when providing information about them.
Now, these Ad Credits are not free, but you will be given some credits when you sign up as a way to start off with the site.
The site will use the money you earn to automatically deduct the Ad Credits you have used. This means what you earned is not what you will be withdrawing since Empowr will deduct the cost of the Ad Credits.
Next, you will need to wait 90 days before you are able to cash out all of your earnings. You have to wait for it to mature before you can cash out.
Another thing is that you will first need to provide either credit card details or your PayPal account before you are able to cash out.
When you provide these details, you will also need to agree to Empowr’s free automatic account protection.
The agreement is basically you authorizing Empowr to automatically take money out of your credit card or PayPal account once the money in your Empowr account is less than $2.
This means every time you post you use Ad Credits, and when your credits are used up, you need to purchase more to be able to continue posting.
You will be charged money via your credit card or PayPal every time your account balance goes below $2 worth. On top of this, you will also be paying a 2.9% ad platform fee monthly.
This shows that you will need to spend money first before you can cash out your money. If you’re lucky, you’ll still be able to earn a few dollars with Empowr.
Otherwise, you can be like a lot of the other members who only ended up losing money on the website. Joining is free to do so, but that is probably the only free thing with this site.
What is Good about Empowr
Now that we what Empowr is and what it is offering, it’s time to discuss what is good about this opportunity.
- It’s really hard to find something good with Empowr since what they’re offering doesn’t really make any sense. But I do like the concept of providing people a way to earn some money in social media sites without the need to sell or promote anything. It’s just a shame that it wasn’t executed properly to make it a viable option for you.
What is Bad about Empowr
There are actually more bad than good with Empowr, and I will discuss this here.
- The first thing that I didn’t like is that their compensation plan is a bit confusing. It’s not really clear how Empowr is calculating how much you should be earning for the activities that you do on the site. It seems like they will just put random amounts in your account.
- I also didn’t like that they withheld the information that every time you post on the site you are using Ad Credits. This is really deceiving, as you will really think that using Empowr is free, only to find out in the end that you are actually spending money every time you post something.
- I’m also not a big fan of their automatic deduction of money from your PayPal or credit card. This is like giving them the authority to just take money from you whenever they want. Plus, it’s also not that clear where they are getting the amounts they are charging, which is really very dubious.
- Lastly, it is bad that you have to wait at least 90 days before you can withdraw your money (some even waited a bit longer, while others were never able to withdraw their money). It doesn’t make sense that they can get money from you in seconds while you have to wait at least 3 months to get your money.
Do I Recommend Empowr?
After learning more about Empowr and what they are offering, I can say that it is an opportunity that I am not recommending and I’m advising that you stay away from it.
The compensation plan, as well as the payments and fees of Empowr, are a bit confusing and I’m guessing they made it this way so it will be hard for you to understand what is really going on.
The site wants you to focus more on the smokes and mirrors of being able to earn good money by just posting, commenting, liking, and so on.
This is because if you really understood what the site is offering, you won’t really see any value to it. You might think you are earning big here because of the many notifications you receive of money going into your account.
But when you try to cash it out, that’s where you will see what’s really going on, which is you are basically spending your own money to do things on the site that you can do for free in sites like Facebook.
Yes, you get to earn as well, but if you look at it closely, the money you earned is not really that big, and there will be times where you will actually lose money here instead of earn.
If you really want to make money, it’s better to look at different opportunities than what Empowr is offering.
