If you love cooking or baking, then you know that the kitchenware you use is just as important as the ingredients you will use when you cook a meal or bake pastries.
Using the right utensils when cooking or baking can affect how the food will turn out. This is why chefs or people who are serious about cooking invest in the kitchenware that they use.
Now, if you are one of those people that invests in their kitchenware, there’s a chance that you have already heard of the Pampered Chef.
It’s a company that sells hundreds of cooking wares and kitchen accessories. One of the major differences that this company has with other kitchenware companies is that it offers an opportunity to make money.
This is possible through their MLM program, where you can earn commissions every time you sell the products or whenever your downline sells the products.
The amount of money you can earn will depend on a lot of factors, so it’s hard to determine exactly the amount you can earn with this opportunity.
But is Pampered Chef really a legitimate opportunity or is it just another scam to avoid?

Pampered Chef is a Legit MLM Opportunity
Pampered Chef is a company that sells different cooking and kitchen products. It was founded in 1980 by Doris Christopher.
It is currently owned by Warren Buffet after his company Berkshire Hathaway bought it in 2002. The company also provides an opportunity to make money through their MLM program.
You get to earn commissions whenever you or your downlines sell the company’s products. From what I’ve seen about the company, I can say that it is a legitimate opportunity.
The company has been around for decades, which means it is stable. It also helps that it is owned by Berkshire Hathaway the holding company that one of the richest men, Warren Buffet, owns.
It’s also a good thing that the company focuses its compensation plan more on product movement than recruitment, so you know it’s not a pyramid scheme.
There are some concerns with this opportunity though, and one of them is the low-income potential.
There are also concerns about how the market has already been saturated. I’ll discuss in more detail these concerns as we progress in this review of Pampered Chef.
Who Uses Pampered Chef?
Pampered Chef is designed for two types of people with one being those who invest in the kitchenware they use in their home to help improve their cooking and baking activities.
The other type are people who are looking for opportunities to make some money online. If you are a cook or baker who only wants to use quality kitchenware whenever you cook or bake, then the company can help you.
Pampered Chef offers good quality cooking products and kitchen accessories. Some products even have a lifetime warranty.
They also have a 30-day return policy “no questions asked” if you are not satisfied so there’s really no risk on your part.
If you are looking for opportunities to make money, the company can help with that too.
They have an MLM program where you can earn commissions just for selling the products they are offering. If you have downlines, you can also earn commissions whenever they sell Pampered Chef’s products.
To be a member, you will be required to purchase a starter kit, which will include some products and other necessary materials.
I’ll discuss the registration process more in the next section, as well as the compensation plan the company has.
How Do You Make Money with Pampered Chef?
The only way you can make money with Pampered Chef is through their MLM program. You can earn commissions every time you sell the products that the company offers.
You can also earn commissions from your downlines every time they are able to sell the product.
To begin, you need to become one of the company’s consultants first. You need to register on the company’s website and provide all the necessary details. The opportunity, though, seems to be available only in the U.S., Canada, and Germany.
When it comes to the products, the company has a variety of different kitchenware items. This includes cookbooks, stonewalls, citrus peelers, frying pans, and much more.
Next, you will be required to purchase a starter kit, there are three starter kits available to choose from.
The first one is the Starter Kit which costs $109. It comes with several products and some materials you will need to start the business. The overall value of the kit is $450.
The second kit is the Deluxe Kit which costs $159. This kit will come with more products and marketing materials. The entire value of the kit is $650.
The last kit is the Ultimate Kit which costs $249. The total value of this kit is at $1,000 and comes with even more products and materials you will need to start the business.
There will be times where the company will have promos offering reduced prices for their registration kits. These promos usually last for a month before going back to its regular pricing.
There is also a way to lessen the cost of purchasing a kit and that is by hosting a party. You can earn credits for being the host and these can be used to knock off $20 to $50 off the purchase price of the kits. You also get to purchase a certain product at half the price and 10% discount for a year.
After registering, you have the option of creating a company supported website for just $10 a month.
This will be your personal site, where you can direct customers and potential customers when they are looking to buy Pampered Chef products.
Now, let’s discuss the company’s compensation plan. Unlike a lot of MLMs, the compensation plan of Pampered Chef is simple and straightforward.
You can earn 20% to 25% commission from your personal sales. You get to earn 20% commission if your monthly sales are worth $1 to $749. It goes up to 22% if your monthly sales are worth $750 to $1,249.
If you are able to sell $1,250 to $2,499 worth of products in a month, you can earn 23% in commissions. Monthly sales worth $2,500 to $3,999 will increase your commission to 24% and monthly sales of $4,000 above will get 25% commission.
Aside from personal commissions, you can also earn 3% commission whenever the person you recruit is able to sell the company’s products.
The company also has bonus free products and points that you can use toward a vacation. As mentioned above, there are some issues with this opportunity of Pampered Chef.
The first one is the low-income potential of this MLM opportunity. If you are familiar with MLM, you probably know how hard it is to make money with this type of business.
Unfortunately, this opportunity is not that different from a lot of other MLM opportunities in terms of income potential. Making money here will be very challenging.
One contributing factor to this is that the market is already saturated. It actually doesn’t help that the company has been around since 1980.
This means that there are now a lot of consultants out there, promoting the same product and using the same marketing tools. This makes it even harder to make money with this opportunity.
What I Like about Pampered Chef
Now that we know what Pampered Chef is and what it is offering, it’s time to discuss what I like about this opportunity.
- The first thing that I like about Pampered Chef is that the compensation plan that they have is very simple and easy to understand. Most MLM companies will have a complicated or confusing compensation plan, having various levels and tiers you need to know and understand. But with this MLM, the compensation plan is simple and straight forward. Your commission increases depending on your monthly sales amount. It’s that simple.
- I also like that the products that Pampered Chef is offering are of good quality. They actually offer a lifetime warranty on some of their products, plus there’s also a 30-day “no questions asked” return policy.
What I Don’t Like about Pampered Chef
Of course, there are also several things that I didn’t like about Pampered Chef and I’ll be discussing these things in this section.
- The first thing that I didn’t like about Pampered Chef is that the market for this product is already saturated. Since the company has been around for decades, they already have millions of consultants promoting their products. This means that new consultants coming in will have a harder time promoting it to people because it is very possible that someone has already promoted it to them.
- I also don’t like that Pampered Chef seems to be available only in the U.S., Canada, and Germany. This puts a limit on the people you can invite to be a consultant and also when marketing the products. It would greatly help if the reach could expand to several more countries.
- Another thing that I don’t like is that Pampered Chef also has a number of expensive products. Yes, there are affordable products, but a lot of them are expensive. The problem is that these expensive products are way overpriced, especially if you compare it to similar products from other brands. This makes it even harder to market and sell them.
Do I Recommend Pampered Chef?
After learning more about Pampered Chef and what they are bringing to the table, I can say that this is an opportunity that I don’t really recommend.
Yes, the company is well-known, their compensation plan is easy to understand, and their products are top notch. But these things are not really enough to negate some of the downsides of this opportunity.
Chief among them is the over saturation of the market. In MLM, being one of the first to join or promote the products being offered is a huge advantage and is one of the main reasons why only those on top earn big.
This is because no one knows about the product being offered or the company, so people are more than willing to listen and check it out.
With Pampered Chef, there is a likelihood that a lot of people you know also know the company and the product it offers. This means you are already at a disadvantage with this business.
Sure, there are also individuals who still succeed even if they are late to enter the MLM program, but they are usually the exception and not the norm.
Most people, especially the new ones, struggle to even earn anything with MLM. It takes skills in marketing, sales, and leadership to even have a chance at earning with this opportunity.
So having an over saturated market on top of this is a disadvantage that you don’t really need with this MLM opportunity. You may want to consider another money making opportunity.
