Welcome to my Qkids review.
There are a lot of opportunities available on the internet when it comes to making money. A lot of different websites offer various ways for you to earn money on the internet.
You can make money answering surveys, watching videos, playing games, doing freelance work, and much more. One of the online money-making opportunities that is gaining popularity right now is online teaching.
There are now a lot of websites out there that offers you the opportunity to make money teaching students online.
Most of the teaching opportunities available centers on teaching English, but there are others that also look for people that can teach other subjects.
In this review, we’ll look at a website called Qkids Teacher, where you will teach English to Chinese students. You will be paid per hour and the base pay for a full lesson starts at $8.
The pay can still increase as the company offers incentives for good reviews and for reaching a certain number of lessons in a week.
But is Qkids really a legitimate way to make money teaching English or is it just a scam and a big waste of time?

Qkids Review: What is Qkids Teacher
Qkids Teacher is considered as one of the leading online teaching platforms in China that connects 500,000 Chinese students to thousands of North American English teachers.
Unlike the usual online teaching platform where you teach a student 1-on-1, this platform will have you teach 1 to 4 students at a time. It’s like a small class.
As an online English teacher, you will be paid on a per hour basis. A complete lesson will earn you $8 per hour while you will get $4 an hour for standby lessons, which is approximately 10 minutes and no teaching is required.
You can earn more if you do well since the company provides incentives. From what I’ve seen about this company, I can say that it is a legit opportunity to make money.
If you pass their application you can really make money teaching English to Chinese students. You just need to commit at least 6 hours weekly to this job and they have different schedules available.
There are some issues with this opportunity, though, starting with the availability of schedules that Qkids offers.
There are also issues with the limited hours available and that you cannot add more hours once your schedule is fixed. I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review of Qkids.
Qkids Reviews: Who Uses Qkids Teacher?
Qkids Teacher is designed for two types of people with one being Chinese students who are looking for help with their English.
The other type are people living in North America who are looking for opportunities to make money online and have no issues teaching English.
For Chinese kids, Qkids offer them an opportunity to learn English in a fun and interactive manner. The site uses a game-based learning platform to teach English to make learning more fun.
Teachers are also based in the U.S. and Canada, ensuring that native English speakers are the ones who are going to do the teaching.
For people living in North America, Qkids provides an opportunity to make money teaching English online. You get paid per hour for teaching 1 to 4 children about English.
The company uses fun and interactive teaching methods to teach kids. You have the freedom to choose from the available schedules that the site offers.
Applying to be an online English teacher is free and simple to do so. You just need to be a resident of the U.S. or Canada to be able to apply.
In the next section, I’ll discuss in more detail the registration process and how you make money with Qkids.
Qkids.com Review: How You Make Money With Qkids Teacher?
The main way for you to make money on Qkids Teacher is by becoming one of their online English teachers. You get paid per hour of teaching and the money earned will be paid via bank transfer every month.
To become an online teacher, you need to apply first. Qkids have several requirements for applicants wishing to apply to be a teacher.
The requirements include being legally allowed to work in the U.S. and Canada and you should be a BA degree holder.
Those still enrolled in a university or don’t have a BA degree will be required to have a plan to earn a certificate coming from TEFL / TESOL International Association.
Applicants are also preferred to have experience in education, homeschooling, teaching, and/or mentoring.
Digital literacy is also required, as well as being able to lead an engaging learning atmosphere. For technical requirements, Qkids requires a computer with clear audio/video capacity and a stable internet connection.
The minimum speed of your internet connection should be 4Mbps for download speed and 2Mbps for upload speed. It is recommended and preferred that you use a cable connection.
Lastly, applicants should be able to work for at least 6 hours a week.
If you meet all the requirements, you can apply to be an online teacher to the company.
You just need to provide your resume, a screenshot of the specs of your computer, a 1-2 minute introduction video about yourself and then read a children’s story, and provide your availability.
After submitting your application, Qkids will contact you within 3 business days to schedule two demo interviews.
The first demo interview will require you to demonstrate your technical proficiency like your knowledge of the company’s teaching platform.
The second demo interview is a 25-minute Q & A session and then you will briefly demonstrate your personality and teaching skills.
The last step of the process is a trial class where you will teach 2 to 5 actual lessons to students. You will get family feedback after your class and it will determine if you will get hired. The trial class is a paid class.

After you pass, you can start getting schedules for your teaching class. Qkids uses games and animated characters to incorporate the curriculum they provide.
It’s important that you familiarize yourself with the materials you will use before your class. Classes last 30 minutes and you will be teaching 1 to 4 students. You can use appropriate props to aid your teaching.
Your class schedule will be finalized the week before and Qkids has several schedules available. Since you’ll teach Chinese children in Beijing, the available time slots are geared more towards their availability.
The available times will be dependent on where in the U.S. or Canada you live. For example, morning shifts can start as early as 1:40am to 4:10am for those with Hawaii time slots. The latest start is at 6:40am to 9:10am for EST time zone. The morning shifts are available 7 days a week.
Afternoon slots are only available on Friday and Saturdays. The earliest time slot is 3:40pm to 6:50pm for Hawaii time and the latest is 8:40pm to 11:50pm EST.
Cancellation of a class is permitted provided you give 24 hours notice before your schedule. Payment for a full class is $8 while it’s $4 for standby lessons, which is about 10 minutes and no teaching is required.
You can earn an additional $1 as a performance incentive for each lesson if you get a good family review. You can also earn another $1 as an attendance bonus for each lesson once you reach at least 15 lessons in a week.
The company also has a referral program where you can earn $100 if a person you refer gets hired as a teacher.
Qkids pay via bank transfer to your bank in the U.S. or Canada. The company will shoulder the fees and the payment date will be no later than the 15th of every month.
The contract term is 6 months and can be extended based on performance. You can request for extended leave as long as you provide 2 weeks notice.
What People are Saying about Qkids Teacher?
People who tried Qkids Teacher are generally happy and satisfied with what the company is offering. They also say that the company’s staff are nice and are always a pleasure to deal with.
Lessons are also easy to learn and to teach, especially as it involves animation characters and games. There are, however, some issues with this opportunity.
One of the most common complaints that people have with this company is that the available schedules are not ideal. A lot of the available schedules are usually early in the morning.
Afternoon shifts are only available on a Friday or Saturday. Nothing can be done here as the students are based in Beijing and the available slots are geared to suit them.
Another common issue is that slots are limited. Though work is consistent, there are also several complaints from teachers that they cannot really work more than 6 hours a week.
This is due to the limited number of available classes that Qkids have. This will make it harder for people to reach more than 15 lessons a week to earn that attendance bonus.
There are also a few complaints about the low pay since the pay this company offers is lower than other similar opportunities. Other than this, people are generally happy with Qkids.
What I Like about Qkids Teacher
Now that we know what Qkids Teacher is and what they are offering, it’s time to discuss what I like about this opportunity.
- The first thing that I like about Qkids Teacher is that the work you get is consistent. You are assured of at least 12 lessons a week and there’s no need to compete with other teachers for students. Qkids assigns the classroom to the teacher.
- Another thing that I like about Qkids Teacher is that they provide you with opportunities to earn more money. Performing well and getting a good rating will earn you a performance bonus. Teaching more than 15 lessons a week also earns you a bonus. Lastly, if you refer people and they get hired, you will also get paid.
- I also like that Qkids Teacher doesn’t require a lot of props or lesson plans for their teachers. Since they use a fun and interactive method of teaching, the company provides its own props and materials. You can choose to add your own as long as it is appropriate, but there’s really no need. You just have to familiarize yourself with their materials and you are good to go.
What I Dislike about Qkids Teacher
Of course, not everything about Qkids Teacher is good, as there are also several things about it that I don’t like.
- The first thing that I don’t like about Qkids Teacher is that they are only available to U.S. and Canadian Residents. There are also other English speaking countries out there that would also benefit from this opportunity.
- Another thing that I didn’t like about Qkids Teacher is the early morning schedule. This is one of the major complaints that a lot of teachers have. It would be better if they could also offer other time slots instead of just early mornings or the afternoons on Friday and Saturdays.
- I also don’t like that the available hours are limited in Qkids Teacher. There have been complaints from some teachers that they are having problems getting more hours in a week. Since the company tries to provide all its teachers with at least 12 lessons a week, there are no extra lessons left for those who want them.
Do I Recommend Qkids Teacher?
After learning more about what Qkids Teacher is and what they can really bring to the table, I can say that this opportunity is something that is worth checking out.

The company provides a decent opportunity for you to make money, especially if you live in the U.S. or Canada.
Their teaching methods are not difficult to learn and it can be fun since you’ll be playing games or using animation to teach.
You just have to contend with the early hours of the teaching schedule as the children you will teach are based in Beijing.
You might also have a hard time getting more classes since the company tries to provide everyone with at least 6 hours of classes a week.
So don’t expect to earn a lot of money with this opportunity, $200 to $400 a month is the likely amount you will earn and a little more if you qualify for their bonuses.
