Welcome to my 3rd party review of Contemporary Virtual Assistance (CVA)!

I am so glad you found my review.

I would like to start out by stating that I have ZERO affiliation with any of the companies I review.

This is a good thing for you because you won’t have to sit through another sales pitch and you can take the information I provide seriously.

I call it like I see it, if the company is shady, I will say so.

If you can make money and the company is founded on outstanding merit, you will know by the end of my article.

The truth of the matter is simple.

As the years go by, more people are turning to the internet for employment, whether it is an MLM or an at home job like this.

If you are having trouble finding an online job, maybe this company can help.

CVA will provide you with clients and you will take care of any tasks the company needs done.

VA stands for virtual assistant so that means you will be handling a wide range of tasks.

This is great because you can build your resume quickly if you are good at the job.

Like all of my reviews, I will cover everything from how the company works to wages and scheduling flexibility.

If you can think of a question, it will most likely be answered by the end of the review.

CVA – What is the Company?

CVA has been in business since June of 2009 and the General Manager is Toni Simoni.

To be honest, there wasn’t a negative review that I could find and the only complaint I found was only about the lengthy application process.

You can’t really blame a company for wanting to hire the most qualified applicants, can you?

The company claims to be a leader in the field of providing quality VA’s to clients and they want to hold up to their end of the bargain. If you end up applying, make sure you brush up on your VA skills and at least be ready for the testing that is administered.

You don’t want to fail a relatively easy part of the application process.

Let’s take a look at how the company works.

How CVA Works

After you are hired as an independent contractor, you will get set up with a client and you will be doing whatever tasks they need at the time.

You will be communicating with some sort of project team leader and they will provide you with the tasks.

Here is a small list of things you could be potentially doing.

• Customer Service and tech support: email, telephone or helpdesk
• Updating a clients website or blogs
• Planning, hosting or updating webinars
• Create newsletters, blogs updating social media info
• Joint Venture Coordinator or Affiliate Manager
• Handling appointments and calendar scheduling

As I have previously said, there are so many tasks that you will be in charge of so you will never get bored.

This is kind of a good thing because you don’t want to get bored while working.

If this is what you are looking for then you should at least consider CVA.

CVA Requirements

This is probably the easiest section of the review because all you will need is a functioning computer with hi-speed internet.

With some clients, you will also need a good headset so you can communicate with your boss.

There it is, nice and easy.

What is the Application Process?

This process may end up being longer than you want it to be.

You will first have to fill out an application form and wait for CVA to contact you.

You will then have to take a bunch of tests that will evaluate your skill set.

If you pass all the tests and they think you will be a good candidate, they will make you an independent contractor.

This is where things get a little annoying.

You will be considered an apprentice for at least 60 days, where you will be evaluated while you do a bunch of tasks.

During your apprenticeship, you will not be making any direct contact with the client.

This is more or less an evaluation to see if you are going to be able to handle the job.

You will also be going through the training program which can only be a good thing.

How Much Will You Get Paid?

This is going to be another short section.

CVA pays you $10 an hour to start out, regardless of experience.

You can get raises but you will get the $10 while you are still in your apprentice period.

You will receive payment form CVA every two weeks via a check that is mailed to you.

Here is the catch; you will not be an employee but an independent contractor.

This means you will have to do all of the tax reporting and you will not be getting any medical or dental benefits.

CVA – The Work Schedule

The flexibility of the work schedule is always an important aspect of any job.

Unfortunately, you cannot get a straight forward answer because it all depends on who you are working for.

With this being said, the company that hires you will make sure that all of your needs are at least considered.

If you do end up getting hired, make sure you are aware of the work schedule so there is no confusion on the matter.

One last note on the scheduling is the fact that your schedule can be random and you could be a VA for a company in a different time zone.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB)

There is so much valuable information in the BBB database.

If you kindly take a look at the image below you will see the CVA has a perfect record.

It has receive the best possible score and there are no comments or reviews that are detrimental to their reputation.

You can also check out the leadership team on the left side of the page.

What makes this information even better is the fact that after 8 years of being in business, all of their issues have been handled in-house.

I couldn’t find any negative comments from previous workers or any pending legal issues.

This is great news and you can trust them at face value.

I recommend that you take 5 minutes to browse the BBB page.

It will provide a wealth of information about CVA and will give you a great way to evaluate future online business opportunities.

It is one of my go-to sites when I am reviewing companies.

Let’s take a look at my final verdict.

The Final Verdict

CVA is without a doubt a legit company and if you are an experienced VA, you can most likely work here.

The company is well established and open for nearly a decade and most of the comments are positive with exception to a few.

If you are in need of a VA job, this is a great site to apply at.

If you meet all of the requirements you will get set up with a client relatively quickly and this means you can start earning ASAP.

The great thing about is if your client only needs a VA for a few months or the contract expires, you will simply be given another client.

This means there is never any downtime between jobs.

This is one of the better aspects of the company.

The other good things about the company are promotional opportunities and a raise after you get past the apprentice stage.

This means that experience is not needed, but priority is given to people with prior VA work.

The one negative that I want to point out is the fact that you have to sign an agreement that bans you from competing with CVA.

I am sure it won’t bother you considering you are in need of a job anyway, but it is worth mentioning.

If becoming a VA is something that does not inspire you, there are other online opportunities.
