So before I jump on the rant train I just wanted to prefix this post with a little caveat so to speak.
It’s not that I hate or dislike online survey companies at all, but it’s more that completing online surveys can take up a lot of time and effort and you often don’t get paid a helluva lot at the end of the day.
Ya see, there are just simply more lurative ways to make money online that require around about the same amount of time, effort and mental stamina as it does to complete online surveys, except for one thing – you get paid over and over again for the same piece of work.
So imagine for a second that you completed an online survey and as a result of that you got paid, but then you get paid again from some else for the same survey and so on and so on.
What happened there is that you just got paid multiple times for the same piece of work.

Do Survey Companies Payout
You’ll find that most legit survey companies are really good at making payments to their members, like Opinion Outpost, Inboxdollars, Global Test Market. Now for every companie there are always exceptions, but these companies are legit and do pay out.
If you’re going to use survey companies as an income source then stick with the main ones.
Effort Vs Payment
So this really depends on how much you get paid for a survey. Some surveys can take 30 minutes or more to complete, especially if they’re detailed surveys and on average payments are between $2 to $15. So you have to calculate out, how much your time is worth to you.
Obviously, if you get paid more for a survey then it maybe worthwhile, so just something to keep in mind.
But, the biggest down fall of getting paid to take online surveys is that you get paid once, which means that you’ll have to keep completing online surveys in order for you to get paid again. Where as other online business models allow you to get paid over and over again for the same piece of work.
Qualifying For Enough Surveys
In general you qualify for surveys depending on the requirements of the survey companys, which could might be based on age, demographics, education, gender, etc I think you get the picture. So this means that you may not qualify for a whole lot if you don’t fit the profile the company is looking for.
This problem seems to be consistent across all survey companies, which is understandable for the company, because you don’t fit the profile, but not so great for you if you’re trying to make money.
How To Get Around Limitations
The easiest way to get around limitations of qualifying for enough surveys is to register as a member to multiple online survey companies. That way you should get a steady stream of survey’s to complete.
The more you complete the more you can make potentially.
Having said that, you still only get paid once for your time and effort.
One Time Money Makers
Typical the business model around completing surveys is a finite source of income because you have to continue to complete surveys in order for you to make money as opposed to the business model of setting something up once and getting paid over and over again.
Payment Can Be A Little Fickle
So not all online survey companies pay out, in fact I have read on multiple websites where folks haven’t been paid for one reason or another, even from some of the bigger online surveys companies.
The Alternative
As I have already mentioned above, the is a way to make money online where you set things up once and continue to get paid for your work indefinitely. It does require effort to get it setup initially, but then once it is working, you can literally get paid over and over again for the same piece of work.
This is not a magical loop hole, or dodgy way to make money, but a legit method, set on sound online business principles.
Take this website for example, by the end of 2015 it will become a 6 figure business.
I know hard to believe – right, but it is currently earning 5 figures, and on track to earn 6.
