Welcome to my 3rd party review of 3Play Media Transcription Editing Job!
This review will be a little different but it is always a great idea to switch things up from time to time.
I will be reviewing 3Play Media and their Transcription Editor position.
If you have experience with working online, you have most likely heard of transcription.
It can be a lucrative job when you become efficient.
I would also like to point out that you can also make decent money as a transcriber but editing will be the main focus of this particular review.
This review will mainly focus on the amount the job pays, the requirements that are needed to be successful at the job and what the application process is like.
However, I will also be providing some information about the leadership and history of the company so you get an idea of how stable 3Play Media is.
Before we get started, I would like to point out that most of the information provided in this review will be directly from the 3Play Media.
They do a wonderful job of providing ample information and the company seems to be doing very well.
Anyway, let’s get started.

3Play Media – What is the Company?
3Play provides people with top notch transcription, captioning, and translations to the 1000 of the following outlets:
• Enterprise
• Higher Education
• Government Customers
• Media
They use sophisticated and secure online account systems and use several platforms to ensure satisfaction.
3Play started out in 2007, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Let’s take a look at the leadership team, at least the cofounders and then briefly discuss the work environment they cultivate.
Chris Antunes: Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder
Jeremy Barron: Chief Customer Officer, Co-Founder
CJ Johnson: Chief Technical Officer, Co-Founder
Josh Miller: Chief Revenue Officer, Co-Founder
If you noticed the image above, they added their company mascot and recruiter, Bo, as a member of the team.
Any company that adds their dog to the list of leaders is automatically on the right side of the business model spectrum.
The company also boasts a “fun but professional” atmosphere which is another great perk.
Speaking of perks, take a look at the list of things that the company has to offer its employees.
I know what you are thinking, “But I’ll be working from home as a Transcription Editor.”
That isn’t the point because in this section I am painting with a broad brush that shows what the company is all about.
PERKS
• Fun and professional atmosphere
• Flexible work schedule
• Snacks, Coffee, Beer & Wine
• Game room
• Constantly expanding company
• Unlimited vacation policy
BENEFITS
• Retirement (401K Plan)
• Life & Disibility Coverage
• Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
Ok, I think you get the picture by now.
The company looks like a great place to work and if there are openings for the Transcription Editor position, you should jump all over it.
But first, let’s take a quick look at what the requirements for the job are.

3Play Media Job Requirements
There is nothing better than being able to quickly find information on a company’s website.
First and foremost, 3Play Media only hires people that are located in the United States.
You should also have immediate access to a computer with high speed internet.
Here is the skill set 3Play Media is looking for:
1. Excel and Word Processing Experience
2. You must be able to work independently
3. You need to type at least 75 words per minute
4. You need to have excellent communication skills including written English
The great thing about the Transcription Editor’s position is that you do not need any experience so all of the skills above are all that are required.
In regards to equipment, you need to have a high-end transcription foot pedal and headset.
This will only makes things easier for you and it will help you become more efficient with the job.
Think about it, more editing, more money…
Let’s move on to the job application process.
Applying for a 3Play Media Job
I would like to first point out that Transcription Editor positions are not available all the time so if you are considering 3Play, you need to check in periodically or contact the company directly.
I know this may seem disappointing but if you are persistent, job openings will be available as the company expands or other editors leave the company.
With that being said, here is the application process.
You will have to fill out an application with all of your personal information, work related experience and of course the reason you want the job.
After filling out the application you will have to transcribe an audio file to see if you have a knack for the job.
Although you do not need any experience, this short test will be a good indicator to see if you are able to do the job.
If you pass the test and your application checks out, then you should be able to start ASAP.
This is great news because you will be able to start earning immediately.
How Much Can You Earn At 3Play?
Here is the deal; there is no way to pinpoint exactly how much you will be making as a Transcription Editor because it is based on how many files you complete.
With that being said, the image above makes a pretty solid case that this job can provide for you and your family.
I can only assume that starting out can be slow but as you become more efficient, you can make up to $30 per hour.
Let’s say you are an editing master and make the $30/hour; that is $1200 per week if you are full time.
That is pretty good money considering you are working from home.
I would be happy with that kind of pay.
The only issue I have with this is the fact that you have to wait for job openings.
This can be annoying but if you really want to work from home as an editor for 3Play, then waiting is the name of the game.
What I would personally recommend is that you contact the company directly and ask if you can send them a resume so that your record is on file.
This would show initiative and could be the difference between landing a job or not.
Better Business Bureau (BBB)
If you are interested in seeing the entire 3Play BBB Page, here is the link.
I always recommend that all of my readers spend a few minutes on the BBB page because there is so much information about the companies that are registered in their database.
The most important aspect is the grade and 3Play has a perfect record.
An A+ is always a great indicator that the company is legit.
Another great indicator is the fact that there are ZERO customer complaints.
Since 3Play has been around since 2007, having no complaints is something to be proud of.
There is not much more to say on the matter because the company has a clean record and seems to care about their customers and employees.
The Final Verdict
To be honest, reviewing a non-MLM company is refreshing because I can honestly say that 3Play Media is not a scam.
The company pays on time and there is no recruiting involved so you can focus 100% on getting your audio files completed in a timely manner.
Think about it, the more you do, the more you make.
In fact, as you get better with the job, you can make so pretty serious money.
Not to mention the flexible job schedule and ability to work where ever you go.
There are so many perks to this particular company but I am sure there are other places that offer similar packages.
I guess what I am trying to say is that there are many reasons to consider transcription editing as an online income generator.
The only issue I can come up with is the fact that you may have to wait a while until job openings come up.
With that being said, you can make decent money as an actual transcriber but it is easier to make money as an editor because the transcriptions are already done.
You just have to edit them to make sure they are perfect.
I think the earnings ceiling is much higher as an editor.
I have a feeling that this type of job is not for everyone.
Even with all the perks and possible wages.
This is why I always recommend joining an online training program and starting your own business, because it will help you no matter what kind of online job you join.
There are plenty of free training programs on YouTube.

Good article about 3Play. But just to note, you don’t have to have a foot pedal. The transcription editing is done with your computer keyboard.
