There are a lot of ways for people to make money online. You can participate in online studies like answering surveys or going to focus group discussions.
You can also join Get-Paid-To sites or Rewards sites where you earn for doing various tasks like completing offers, watching videos, clicking ads, and so on.
Another money-making opportunity you can do online is to become a freelance writer. The problem with this opportunity, compared to the others, is that a lot of people don’t know where or how to begin.
Randomly approaching publications or blogs will not really guarantee that you can become a freelance writer for them. And if you are new and don’t have any experience yet, then this approach will be useless.
So how can you begin becoming a freelance writer and make money online? Well, one website wants to help you with that by becoming a member of their Barefoot Writer Club.
The barefootWriter website has established a club where they will train members to become professional freelance writers.
They will also provide tips and guides on how to land your first gig as a writer and make money. The website also provides you with an opportunity to be a contributor to its magazine and make money from it.
The amount of money you can make here, though, is hard to determine since it will depend on the kind of article you will write for them.
There’s also no guarantee your pitch will be accepted as there are thousands of other would-be writers who are also making their pitch.
Is barefootWriter, though, a legit site or are the opportunities they offer just a scam that you should avoid?

barefootWriter is a Legit Website that Offers Opportunities To Learn about Freelance Writing
barefootWriter is a website that provides people an opportunity to learn how to become a professional freelance writer through their Barefoot Writer Club.
They also provide an opportunity to make money by becoming a contributor to their magazine. From what I’ve seen about the website, I can say they are pretty much a legit opportunity.
They do provide information about being a professional freelance writer and how you can possibly begin. You will also be paid for writing an article for them. The idea you pitch would just need to be chosen.
There are, however, some issues with barefoot and chief among them is that there are too many upsells inside the Barefoot Writer Club.
Some have also complained that the information and teaching that the website provides is not new and can be researched online for free.
There are also issues with how barefootWriter hypes up the potential income that freelance writers can make. I’ll discuss these issues in more detail as we progress further in this review.
Who Uses barefootWriter?
The Barefoot Writer Club that barefootWriter offers is designed for people who want to learn how to be a freelance writer and how they can earn from it.
Membership of the club also provides them an advantage when it comes to submitting a pitch for article ideas to the website’s magazine.
If you are someone who wants to be a freelance writer but doesn’t know where to start, the Barefoot Writer Club can help you with that.
It’s a club that teaches people how to be a professional freelance writer and make money from it. You will just be required to pay an annual membership fee to be part of the club.
The site also provides an opportunity for people to make money. They just need to pitch an idea for the site’s magazine. If it gets accepted, they can write the article for it and once the article is published, they get paid.
In the next section, I’ll discuss in more detail the process to become a member and the benefits of being part of the Barefoot Writer Club.
What barefootWriter Can Give You
barefootWriter has a club called the Barefoot Writer Club where you can learn how to be a professional freelance writer and make money out of that profession.
You can also earn some money by being a contributor to the site’s magazine. You just need to pitch an idea and if they accept it you can write it and get paid for it.
To start learning about becoming a professional freelance writer, you need to become a member of the Barefoot Writer Club.
To be a member you will be required to pay $108 a year to barefootWriter. For this amount, the website will provide you access to their membership page and all of the content inside it.
The content they have would include instructional videos and lectures, and free access to their Barefoot Writer magazine and its back issues. You also get to be a part of their community of online freelance writers.
Being a Barefoot Writer Club member also provides you with discounts to the club’s programs, webinars, seminars, books, and more.
Aside from this, barefootWriter will also provide several freebies like 7 Bonus Free Reports, and daily edition of the Writer’s Life.
As a member, you can also participate in 3 copywriting contests they have each month where you can win $100.
If you are not happy with what you get, you can cancel your membership anytime. If you cancel within the first 365 days, the website will refund your money as they have a money-back guarantee. But if you cancel beyond that, you won’t get a refund.
Aside from the Barefoot Writer Club, the website also provides an opportunity for people to make some money as their contributor.
This opportunity is open to everyone, even those who are not club members. The advantage of club members, though, is that they get access to barefootWriter’s magazine.
This means that they already know the kind of content that the website is looking for and the kind of writing style they want.
To be a contributor, you just need to submit a topic idea to their Queries Department at queries@thebarefootwriter.com.
It is important that you are specific with the topic proposal and include what the title of the article will be. Also, include in your proposal the benefits that Barefoot Writer magazine readers will get from your topic.
You can check out this link for more guidelines regarding the submission. The amount of money you will get will depend on your experience and on the type of project you will be part of.
As mentioned above, there are several issues with barefootWriter and one of them is that the knowledge and information the website provides in their club is not really new or groundbreaking.
A lot of the information they provide on the site about freelance writing and making money from it is something that you can find online for free if you just do the research.
It probably would have been better if they provided something groundbreaking to provide more value to what they offer.
Another issue is that the website has a lot of upsells. Yes, they say in their promotion that you only need to pay $108 a year. But once you are a membere, you will be bombarded with a lot of upsells, which can be annoying.
There’s also an issue with how much barefootWriter tries to hype up the earning potential of being a freelance writer in hopes of trying to attract more people to be club members.
Though it is possible to earn well as a freelance writer, the reality is that it will be difficult to achieve that. The industry is very competitive and you really have to be on top of your game just to land a consistent project.
The information they provide will not really help you reach the 6 or 7 figure income they are claiming. Now, it is possible that this information can be found if you buy their upsells.
I’m not really sure since I never tried getting their upsells and there’s no information about what you can get.
But if you just rely on the information they provide for your $108 a year, you won’t find out there how you can achieve the 6 or 7 figure a year income.
What I Like about barefootWriter
Now that we know what barefootWriter is and what they are offering, it’s time to discuss what is good about this opportunity.
- The first thing that I like about barefootWriter is that it can actually be a good starting point for people who really know nothing about being a freelance writer. The site can be a good source of knowledge and information for people who are new or just about to start in freelance writing. The community of writers will also be a big help since other writers can share their experience for you to learn.
- I also like that barefootWriter provides an opportunity for people, whether they are club members or not, to make some money. You can apply to become a contributor to the site to be able to make some money. You just have to submit a pitch to apply. If your submission gets accepted, you could be part of one of the website’s projects and make money based on your experience.
What I Don’t Like about barefootWriter
There are also several things that I don’t really like with barefootWriter and I’ll discuss them in this section.
- The first thing that I didn’t really like about barefootWriter is that they are hyping up the earning potential of freelance writers. Now, it is possible for freelance writers to earn 6 or 7 income figures annually, but the reality is that this will be difficult to achieve, especially as the industry is highly competitive. This could set people up for major disappointments due to false expectations.
- I also don’t like that barefootWriter has too many upsells once you are inside the member’s page. I find this annoying, especially if you consider the fact that they don’t mention that there’s a second level membership inside the club. You are given the impression that $108 is the only thing you will need to pay for and that will provide you with the information you need. When you get there, you will soon realize that the membership you paid for is just the introductory membership and there are other programs inside that you need to be a part of to get their complete offerings.
Do I Recommend barefootWriter?
After learning more about barefootWriter and what they bring to the table, I can say that it is an opportunity that is not really for everyone.
The Barefoot Writer Club is a good opportunity if you are someone who doesn’t have any knowledge or experience with freelance writing and want to learn more about it.
Most of the information they provide there are for beginners. If you are already a seasoned writer, then what they offer will just be a waste of money for you.
When you do become a member, it’s important that you don’t believe the hype they claim about the income potential of a freelance writer.
Earning 6 or 7 income figures is not that easy to achieve, as there are a lot of factors that can contribute to achieving that and the site doesn’t necessarily provide you with proper information on how you can achieve it.
As a money-making opportunity, barefootWriter doesn’t really offer anything that can consistently make you money. Sure, you can try submitting a pitch, but there’s no guarantee that it will be accepted.
If you want an opportunity to make money that is more consistent, you should try looking elsewhere.
