With over 85 negative comments from actual users, don’t you think you might need to re-think whether Opinion Outpost is a good way to make money?
If you don’t have time to read this entire article, then let me cut straight to the point and tell you that “Yes” Opinion Outpost is a legitimate survey company that does pay for people to complete surveys.
However, there are a few things you need to keep in mind when dealing with survey companies in general that I will go into in this article. One being that Opinion Outpost, doesn’t payout as much as some other survey companies, so you could literally be completing the same tasks some where else and making more money.
Now even though I say that they’re a legitimate survey company, they do come with their fair share of complaints, so something to keep in mind.
But first …

Earn A Full-Time Living
Well … I earn a full-time living making money online, which means that I have a pretty good idea of how the average person can legitimately make money working from home.
And whilst this program (which I highly recommend) pays me anywhere between $4 – $6,000 per month, it only makes up a small percentage of my overall earnings. See how I earn between $4,000 and $6,000 per month with this program – (income proof here).
I have tried out just about every online business opportunity you can think of, from network marketing, online surveys, get paid to click programs, the works – you name it, I’ve probably done it.
A small percentage of them have worked, but most of them didn’t or eventually became outdated.
I tell you this because I want to save you from having to make the same mistakes I made when I first started out in this business.
Anyway, enough about me …
I remember looking into these types of programs when I first thought about trying to make money online. And although you get paid for these types of programs (sometimes) it can really eat up a lot of your time.
These programs are what I call one-time income earners, meaning you get paid once for the time and effort you put in.
For example if you spend 30 minutes completing a survey that pays you $1, then effectively your time and effort is only worth $2 an hour – and you only get paid once.
Now I don’t know about you – but me … well, I like being paid over and over again for the same piece of work.
And there is a particular business model that will help you do that. I go into more detail here.
But one problem that I constantly see cropping up time and time again with these survey companies is that …
Opinion OutPost Review – Qualify For The Surveys
Which means that although you might spend 30 minutes answering the pre-qualification questions, you won’t always be eligible to complete the actual survey.
What does this mean for you – well, it basically means that you spent 30 minutes doing something that you’re not going to get paid for. Whilst this is not always the case, there seems to be quite a high percentage of people on the Internet experiencing this problem.
I would also add that this problem is not a Opinion Outpost specific issue, but a global issue for survey companies.
The companies that pay survey sites like Opinion Outpost and the like, are looking for a specific group of people that will help them either develop more products or improve current products.
Opinion OutPost Review – It Can Be Frustrating Waiting For Surveys
So whilst you won’t always qualify to complete a survey another frustration experienced by a lot of people is not getting enough surveys to even complete.
Now this is not an Opinion Outposts problem, but it’s more the company looking for a specific group of people. So if you don’t fit the profile then unfortunate for you, you won’t be able to participate in the survey.
Now whilst this may not be their problem, it is the cause for a lot of frustration.
[UPDATED 2019]Opinion OutPost Review – Quarterly Chances to Win $10,000
You do get the chance to win $10,000 every quarter if take part in a survey, or you use your points to enter, or even if you get disqualified from a survey. So theoretically you can earn up to $40,000 in total a year if you win all 4 awards. Sounds great, but this is only available 4 times a year and the chances of you winning all 4 spots in one in a thousand. This is only available for US participants.
By the way, when was the last time you won a lucky draw or sweep stake?
Here’s a Really Good Alternative / Addition
Note I have referred to this company as a good alternative / addition, because it is a survey company that you could do in addition to Opinion Outpost or – you can do it alone.
Like I’ve stated before, you’re not going to make much money (but it will be on par with Opinion Outpost), but if you’re gonna invest a bit of your time and effort in survey companies then this one is better than most.
There are no pre-qualification questions and you get pay for all your answers. Your answers don’t have to be long winded answers either, some of the answers I provided was less than 100 words.
In fact, if you sign up now, in the next couple of minutes you could very well be earning your first dollars online if you’ve never even earned a red cent online before.
I like the program so much I created a review on it and actually made some money while I was reviewing it.
Opinion OutPost Review – Is Opinion Outpost Legit?
Opinion outpost is a legitimate business opportunity for folks who want to make some extra cash online, but it does have limitations which seems to frustrate the hell out of its members.
Having said that, most of the frustrations are not unusual for these types of survey companies.
How Does Opinion Outpost Work?
It works by getting it’s members to complete online surveys and in exchange they paid you in cash or in reward points.
So that’s simple.
You’re not going to be able to create a full-time income from completing surveys, but if you know that up front, and you’re cool with that, then it could be a great way to earn a few extra bucks.
How Much Does Opinion Outpost Pay?
This really depends on how many surveys you qualify for, and what the pay out is on each survey. How much money you make per survey depends on each individual survey. The amount is largely dictated by the company who is paying for the information.
Opinion OutPost Review – Does Opinion Outpost work?
It does work if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, however, as I mention earlier, it comes with limitations and it is not something that I would invest my time and effort in.
So here’s the deal with Opinion outpost – it’s not whether you’ll make money, because you will if you follow the rules. But really what it comes down to is whether the money you make will be worth your investment in time and effort.
How Old Do You Have To Be?
You must be 18 years and over to participate in opinion outpost. The age requirement may change in the future, but for now it is still 18 years and over.
How Much Time Do You Need To Allocate to Opinion Outpost?
Completing a survey can take you anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes depending on what the survey entails.
So in my opinion there is definitely a better way to make money online where you’ll get paid over and over again for the time you invest in your business.
Now, I’m not gonna BS you and say that you’ll start making money today, but if you can learn how to ride a bike, drive a car or even fill out a survey then this business will be just as difficult, but 10 times more profitable.
Frozen Accounts
I have seen comments from people who are complaining that opinion outpost had frozen their account for no apparent reason recently. And whilst I can’t confirm that they haven’t done anything that violates their terms of service, I am seeing more and more complaints. Comment below if you have had this experience before.
Make money by creating an online business
If you are passionate about a topic whether it be music, dancing, cooking, swimming – anything, then you can create an online business around your passion – literally.
All you have to do is follow a few simple, but effective marketing strategies and you’ll be able to make money over and over again.

Countries Who Can Join Opinion Outpost
Opinion Outpost is currently only available to US citizens, which means that they are not current allowing International countries to join. I have seen requests from the Brasil, Bulgaria, Canada, Philippines, India, Jamaica, Ireland, Kenya, Kokemuksia and Kuwait. So if you have been trying to join but have not been successful, then that is the reason why. If this changes or you have had a different experience, please comment below.

I enjoy opinion outpost. I spend about an 1 hour a day doing surveys I actually get bonus rewards for being loyal. It yes legit and you can go through paypal and send the money to your account. For every 100 points you get 10 dollars. I done about 30 surveys so far and gotten $30 Ill say that is not bad. Its takes 2 days to earn 100 point or more.
How many hours did you spend to make $30? If you spent more than 3hours you are better off getting a job at mcdonalds
The most in important thing about joining opinion outpost is; being truthful, this is actually true of all the survey sites.
If you are new to the site, fill out your profile…I mean, everything. Like if you just started subscribing to a magazine, new bank, an add on to your home, new child. Keeping them updated will grab one another survey opportunity to grab and get those points.
I do get disqualified for surveys, do not let it bother you. I guarantee, there will be another one that you are able to reach your goal and qualify and so on.
I recently did a survey about cats and got disqualified because my two cats don’t use flea or tick collars. (Where I live they are not needed.
However, on completing a survey about how much meat I spend in 1 weeks time, cooking and preparing it (one of the questions were who cooks the meals in your house hold) I do, next question; who will eat the meal that is provided myself, significant other, kids and so on. My answer was significant other, because I do not eat meat. just 5 questions got me 40 points, all done in 7 minutes.
Some surveys are boring, like the ones that pay you to watch a movie clip, right down the adds and the movie that you’d preview earlier and chose items that you truly want. Then do the follow up survey, Hey I might be busy, but I will make an effort to do them.
I have been with opinion outpost for years now. And I am proud to be with them.
And don’t forget, one can always put the site on their desktop and keep doing surveys; Like I do.
How do they pay you? Do you have to sign up for the “Brink Prepaid Master card”? Cuz that’s what they wanted me to do.
They can pay you by PayPal, that’s one of the main payment options I heard about Opinion Outpost.
no they do not ask for any bank info from you they only pay through PayPal or amazon gift cards online with codes and yes they pay you can claim 5 bucks for every 50 points
if you put your address into opinion outpost, how do they send the money? at first I thought they just send it to your house ? yes I’m dumb, but I’m scared it may be really dangerous.
Paypal. Just provide them with you Paypal email address; that is all anyone needs to be able to send/give you money. I mystery shop and I get paid via Paypal all the time.
I just recently joined Opinion Outpost. And somehow, over the past couple days and wading through countless surveys I didn’t qualify for (I guess a lot of companies don’t want to hear from an unemployed 25-year-old Caucasian female that rarely consumes alcohol or doesn’t own a smartphone or tablet…), I made it to 100 reward points, which is the minimum to cash out with PayPal and get actual money. For some reason, it said there was an error and that they were only redeeming with validated PayPal accounts. Yet I went to the PayPal website in an attempt to validate my account, and it WAS already validated. I don’t understand what the problem was there. >:( I settled for an Amazon gift card as I do buy from Amazon a lot, but I’m clearly a little ticked off. I’m not unsubscribing from Opinion Outpost just yet, but I will be looking for other ways to earn money. It doesn’t need to be much, I just want to actually earn!
Apparently, you’re not the only one that has had issues, others appear to have experienced a similar problem. Having said that, they may have resolved the problems.
Thanks for your experience.
They just did this to me today. I had reached just under 200 rewards points then couldn’t log in anymore. Were you able to cash out your rewards and get your account unfrozen? If so, how? I have sent their help desk 2 emails and have yet to hear anything back.
This just happened to me as well. I reached 200 points and went to cash out via PayPal. I got a notice my account was frozen due to data concerns. I emailed them and got an automated response that due to a large amount of tickets it would take longer than usual to get back to me. They used me to take surveys, for which they get paid for sending people, then won’t pay me what I’m owed. Scam. Do not use them.
I have recently had the same problem. I have used the UK site for about 6 months to earn a small amount of extra income to top up my pension, and have only ever given completely honest answers. Now they have closed my account due to “a violation of their terms and conditions”. I e-mailed to ask what condition I had violated, but they have not told me (probably because there is no violation that I can find).
This has just happened to me. I had 200 points and when I attempted to transfer the money to paypal I had exactly the same message … ‘violation of terms and conditions’. I have emailed them, but judging by a number of other comments I’ve seen nothing is likely to happen …
They haven’t resolved the problem. It is much worse now. I labored to get 120 point and tried to get it through paypal. Their system says my PayPal is not validated and my account has been terminated. So i lost all my point. I tried to contact them. No response. IT IS A SCAM. I can’t imagine if after spending many months to get hundreds of points and they just terminate your account unjustly because you want to get the money you have worked. SCAM SCAM SCAM. PLEASE AVOID THEM
Frank, the only bank card I have is a Westpac card. In your Opinion Outlook and Slicethepie reviews, you only mentioned Paypal as the place where the company deposits any earnings. If I wanted to join these sites, would I have to acquire a Paypal account?
At this point in time I believe so.
A Paypal account is easy to get and you can then transfer your payments to your bank account.
I have done well over 80 surveys, spent hours and hours ‘not qualifying’ for surveys after filling them out, even completing surveys and not given points (although when I emailed OO they did say they’re aware i completed the survey, and so they allocated my points to me), and after all this i got 150 points – coming to £7.50… i have redeemed this into my PayPal account and never looking at OO again. Definitely not worth all the rejections you get! Waste of time! For such little money! It wouldn’t be so bad if they let you know you dont qualify very early on in the survey, but 15-30 minutes into completing a survey – not worth it! I even completely filled out my profile… yet they still send me surveys that have nothing to do with me, lol. Anyway, at least I tried it 🙂
have a nice day everyone xx
NEVER USE OPINION OUTPOST!
Opinion Outpost is a site where you take surveys for money. Every 100 points is $10. I had 265 points, there was a survey worth the remaining 35 I needed to redeem $30. I finished the entire survey but then was DISQUALIFIED at the very end. I then had to drudge myself up slowly to 295 points, at which point I was unable to do any more surveys for 2 days (the site will tell you to check back later). I could not do anymore surveys. When I went to redeem 200 points my account was frozen for “data concerns. ”
Not to mention I had emailed customer support about this issue with no response. Their support page doesn’t even list customer support email. You have to have an error page come up to find it.
Thanks for sharing your experience Sean.
Terrible service. Would not recommend to anyone. I believe this to be a scam.
You spend time completing surveys, then when you try to collect rewards nothing happens. I’ve tried to collect as Paypal, Amazon and Itunes vouchers and the page does nothing. Times out. This has been ongoing for 2 months. I have repeatedly emailed support, ignored every time. I do not believe for one second that anybody reads these emails. I have not once received a single payment and I have collected 110 points. Not a lot but perhaps but my time went into this and I should be rewarded for that as promised by Opinion Outpost.
I believe this to be a scam service, an illegal way for companies to collect data. I will be following up this review up by contacting several companies responsible for investigating into this practice as this counts as theft of information. I will also be posting this review on every site possible.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Opinion Outpost Jack.
JULY 14, 2015. FRAUD ALERT! Someone is using our bank info and sending out over 150 fake checks so far. Then sending emails to follow telling them what to do once they “cash” the checks. Most of the people are somehow linked to this Opinion Outpost. I’m not saying it is the company but someone is definitely linked to it and this Wal-Mart scam somehow. Please beware of getting checks you are not expecting. If it sounds to good to be true………..it is!
And the checks are mailed from Macon, Georgia. Return address on the envelope is only our logo, no address. Smart move criminals!
I’m actually interested in trying this survey site–just to make some money on the side. However, my country is not available in the options. Is that really an issue?
Opinion Outpost sent me a check, wants me to do a mystery shop and send a portion of the money to Manila…..I am anxious and leary that it could be a scam as they want me to deposit the check into my checking account first….
That is a scam. If you read OO rules and website, the ONLY way they pay you is through Paypal. That is how they keep everything safe from such scams. Only go to OO through the website or through your email. I would tell them to report this behavior.
I looked at the privacy policy (I think its called) Outpost has access to basiclly EVERYTHING. They take all the information they can get on your devices ect.
I received a check with an orthopaedic name from Indiana stating it’s for a Walmart survey in the amount of $1230.00. They are wanting me to cash the check at my local bank and wire money to the United Kingdom. I’m a little leary of this…..any input?
Yes, don’t do it.
It’s a scam!
Walmart doesn’t send out checks for surveys.
Here’s a link and advice for Walmart’s Mystery Shopping Scam.
In your case, it is known as Fake check spam.
They get you to cash the check in at your bank.
The bank makes the funds available (before the check has cleared) and you send the money onto the recipient, in most cases, minus a fee (which is supposedly paid to you). Only problem is, after you send the money and the bank finds out that the funds haven’t cleared it’s too late. You’re then liable to pay the bank back. See CNN article here.
Thank you! That is exactly what I was asked to do! Although, I find it a bit strange that the email is coming from Opinion Outpost; how is that?
Just hit the reply button in your email and look at the “reply to” email address.
My guess is that it’s not from Opinion Outpost at all, but from some made up spammers email address.
If it is from Opinion Outpost (i.e. The address should end with @opinionoutpost.com) then send me a screenshot of it and I’ll investigate it further for ya.
I think you just answered my question. It says opinionoutpostllc.com. All my other ones actually from opinion outpost say just that, opinionoutpost.com. Thanks! I’ve got some shredding to do 🙂
No problem Sherrie 🙂
😉
Frankie and Sherrie:
Yes, those fake checks are coming from Opinion Outpost — don’t use this company for anything! I called their 877-254-1234 number about the check and they returned my call saying it was legit. It was not! I took it to a check cashing place and the bank told them the account didn’t exist. So don’t believe it’s a third party scammer. It’s Opinion Outpost doing this scamming, and if you go on their website, you’ll see some people have the FBI investigating. I also filed a complaint with the BBB, even though I didn’t fall for it.
it seems the biggest problem with opinion outpost is they can collect the data they need and then say oh sorry you didnt qualify! If they ask the important data up front…age race region etc they should be able to disqualify you right then like other sites do (I also belong to Vandal which is also slow going but I have made $26 in two months..at Opinion outpost I’ve manage to collect a mere 23 points and 10 of that is for signing up in same amount of time…that is about $2.30). Yesterday i did a beverage survey at OO. It took well over an hour. at one point it asked how many beverages I had yesterday…I actually had consumed 8 glasses of water so I stupidly reported that…they asked about 20 questions (the same ones) for each drink…which was incredibly time consuming. after drudging thru that boring survey at the end..sorry disqualified. SO FRUSTRATING! they got all the data they needed of course because I did complete the survey. I don’t know if its worth it to complete it or not.
I was curious and signed up. Some vague information was given followed by two cashiers checks for $4800. My major concern is the instruction to wire the residual funds overseas which I will not do. I would prefer to return them so they can contact the next person. As others have said their customer service/help seems useless.
Now I have these two checks, instructions where to go and what to evaluate. I’ve asked them to contact me and said the checks will not be deposited in my bank account, however PayPal seems a good option. Any suggestions?
Hmmmm, whilst I haven’t seen the two cashier checks, it kinda sounds a little dodgy. This sounds a lot like the scams mentioned earlier in this thread by Sherrie and Kansas. Make sure the contact email is legit and from opinionoutpost.com and not some where else.
There is a 3rd party scam going around that claimed to be from opinion outpost sending out fake checks. If you go to the official opinion outpost page it explains about this 3rd party scam. Please DO NOT deposit the checks. This is a very typical scam. Go to the official opinion outpost website to learn more about this scam.
Hi guys.
my husband has an opinionoutpost account and has redeemed couple times via paypal, he convinced me to register to this website but the problem is that i dont have a paypal account so my husband added my email to his paypal account.
can i redeem so ?
If you want to get paid separately then you’ll need to have you’re own paypal account.
Just did a 4 point survey but didn’t get any points. Just because I am a grandma doesn’t mean I don’t use products. My children are grown but I have Grandchildren over everyday and they eat snacks. Why do you keep asking me what magazines I read or when do I watch TV then say to try back later?
I don’t have a PayPal account and don’t want to get one, would I be able to create an account and only take payments in Amazon gift cards?
Do they give cash or check…
I just received the check for $2300 with instructions about going to Walmart.
I looked online for the name of the attorney whose check it is written on. Found nothing there and then looked for ‘complaints Opinion Outpost’ and found this.
Glad I read to the bottom as this is obviously one of those too good to be true things. It came in an envelope of Priority Mail.
Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences.
No, it is not scam. However, you will not be rich taking surveys.
I’ve been using opinion outpost since October 18th, 2015. I’ve made $249 so far. Sometimes I go a few months without doing surveys but sometimes I check twice a day everyday when I really need some extra money. I have tried SO many survey websites and apps and so many are spam or a waste of time. In order to do 1 survey you have to sign up for 3 different things but to sign up for those 3 things you need to answer if you like coke or pepsi better and then select which magazines you want to sign up for etc etc. I was SO sick of those disorganized, spam type survey websites.
Opinion outpost is by far my favorite and the only survey website I will use. It is very straightforward, organized, no spam. You click take a survey, rate the survey after and then you get points. Do I sometimes get a glitch where the page can’t be opened? Yes. Do I sometimes not get paid at the end because of a glitch? Yes. Do I sometimes not qualify for a survey after wasting 10 minutes on it? Yes.
It’s really frustrating sometimes and these are the only issues I’ve had with opinion outpost. However, it doesn’t happen to me that often and what do you expect for making a little extra money online with surveys? Customer service is always very nice and helpful. I don’t really have high expectations for a survey website and I look at opinion outpost like I’m lucky to make an extra amount of money being a full time student and working part time. I am thankful for opinion outpost and will use them for a long time. Please don’t let other negative reviews discourage you from at least trying it. Idk what I would do if I never discovered this website.
Thanks for sharing your experience on Opinion Outpost Lily.
I actually live in the UK so the version I get may differ slightly, but overall I have no major issues with Opinion Outpost. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they’re perfect because there are……perhaps not faults but things that need to be addressed.
so whats good?
1) Payout time. I always cash out via paypal and it has always hit my account within 30-40 mins
2) Amount of points needed to achieve payout. Here in the UK its 50 points, I believe in the US its 100 points to receive £2.50 or whatever the dollar equivalent is.
3) Interesting surveys and the occasional free trial. Free trials don’t happen very often but when it does it’s a bonus. Also you tend to get more points.
OK so thats the main plus points but what about the bad?
To be honest there aren’t any per se. Having said that there are certain aspects I would address.
1) Surveys drying up. This can be a real pain especially when you’re 5 or 10 points short of a payout.
2) Points per survey. Overall the PpS makes sense…..the longer the survey the higher the reward. However this isn’t always the case. Mini surveys tend to pay 5 points and the really long ones in the region of 20 plus points. Nothing wrong so far. The problem comes wIth the middle range surveys…..the Ones that are supposed to take 15 mins (give or take). I’ve had surveys that have given me 10 points, 15 points, 40 points for the same length of time.
Conclusion
Would I recomend?
Yes. Opinion Outpost is one of the better survey sites. Maybe not perfect but close.
As of August 2016 TONS of account have been “frozen” and OO won’t answer anyone as to why. Some have lost thousands of dollars they had saved up. I lose about $100. Its ashame because this used to be the easiest site to get money from despite some issues.
Tim? Was the account frozen when you tried to cash out? If so then that happened to me recently due to a typo in my paypal email. If this is the case simply email them with your proper paypal email and (I think) date of birth and they’ll sort it out.
If they need your DOB there’s a problem, people really need to verify if people are actually getting paid for their time. Otherwise it wouldn’t hurt to investigate those who promote OpinionOutpost, including looking up the websites with a ‘whois’ search and finding out if the people who support them are employees or associated with them in any way.
I have been a member of surveyspot & opinion outpost for a couple years with no problems. Then last week I was told I was banned due to data concerns. I received an email today stating my account is linked with more than 2 accounts & I was no longer able to be a member. I am the only one who does surveys & I only have 1 account per survey site. I have noticed a lot of people getting banned with the same excuse & having cash in their account that they could have cashed out for. I asked for payment on the surveys I already completed but I doubt I will receive it. I will no longer give a positive review for OO or SP.
It’s not real, I got scammed as well. Having a verified PayPal only means it’s associated with your bank account, otherwise PayPal is a service to exchange currency. If they can’t simply send funds they’re trying to gain your personal information and everyone who registers for this website is having their information sold to companies such as; telemarketers and various other scam sites.
Reading all these comments saying OO is scam is strange.
I joined back in May 2016 after a friend mentioned to me. I was using vindale online for a month or so to make some money online in order to saved up some cash to build myself a gaming computer. It was pretty slow and not worth it.
OO was an absolute godsend! I succeeded in only 3 months I had Completed: 143 Surveys and Collected: 1592 Points. Got myself around $300. All the money had gone to paypal and bought all the parts I needed via online.
I haven’t used the site as much anymore, I pop in once a week to do a few surveys. I dont spend an hour furiously during surveys like I use to before.
Yeah right, Lynn…. because that’s the last money you will ever see from them.
whwn i went to opinion outpost and signed up it sent me an email to confirm my email. when i confirm my email it takes me to a different website called opinionworld. is this normal because there is no paypal option. thanks in advance
Ive tried it for about a couple of weeks then cancelled my account. I think its a waste of time because they are surveys you may not qualify and you already wasted about 10-25 minutes of your time answering surveys. I didnt like it.
Opinion Outpost is full-of-it!! I can tell you from personal experience that this so-call survey company is the biggest Scam in the history of surveys. They sent me a check in the middle of 2016 in the amount of $2308. At first I said to myself – Yeepy. As I studied the check more carefully, something told me, this isn’t real. I took the check to my bank and was told immediately NOT to cash that check. People, these people need to be put on of business. If you ever receive a check, please check in thoroughly. Good Luck!
*I called the number given on their web site to contact them
Can someone please give me an email to Opinion Outpost’s help desk? I would like to make sure that my claim goes through, and if not, so ask what I can do about it.
opinionoutpost they do not pay they got to many excuses what the holdup is and they take to long to get it resolved.
I was a member for 3 years and this was my favorite site because they paid same day to PayPal. Than one day I decided to redeem some of my points “250” as I had done many times before with there PayPal button on there redeem page and received an error notice and was locked out. Now I have received there review notice that they could not verify the info i gave them and have been kicked off for ever!!! Good buy to many hours of work to get to the 250+ points left on the table. It is best to cash out on these sites as soon as you meet the minimum amount and not let them build up our they will drop you with a slim excuse.
You’ve got that right!!!!!!!
They are one of the worst scams because they flat out won’t let you cash out. They give you options for cashing out, but none of them work.In order to cash out, you have to go to their “Secure Member’s Area”, but if you enter your email and password and hit “submit”, nothing happens.
Also, don’t expect them to reply to any complaints or inquiries you make, they won’t.
Opinion Outpost is a slow developing scam. After using it for almost 2 years, suddenly I was unable to transfer my points to Paypal. They had frozen my account and told me that I had violated their “Terms & Conditions”. They “looked into it” and determined that they wouldn’t reinstate me. I’m a 75 year old woman, always honest, not some sneaky teenager, and the only thing I can come up with is that I was making too much money off of them. I averaged $40 a month, and would always convert my points when I got to 100 ($10). I feel sorry for those members that let them build up and then got screwed out of their hard earned money.
Pay attention to what others say about there credibility, and notice the consistency of fraud; it is evident that this site is a scam.
When I first tried this site, like I do with just about every site, I give it a try if I see some positive comments online. And it just so happened that I was reading someone’s top ten review page and for some reason they had “opinion outpost” in there top three – surprisingly.
Moreover, I would also say that one can never truly know who writes the reviews for most things online. Many times, it could be the owners involved in the website that are doing the reviews online. For this reason, in order to accurately determine the validity of a website, one should examine the consistency of not only positive, but mostly, how many consistently negative reviews are there.
So then, back to my experience: after trying it out for a month, I noticed that I was getting a decent amount of surveys from them; I had accumulated $16.00 approximately. Finally, when I had cashed my money in for amazon credit, it said that my account was frozen…My first thought was…that’s very strange.
Now, when I had this experience, I immediately looked online again to see their reputation for this kind of thing. And unfortunately, I discovered that they are well known for freezing accounts and never paying people. This was a recurring thing among reviews, a very prevalent problem indeed.
Nevertheless, despite the evidence that it was a scamming website, I decided to personally contact them by phone and email. I left a message via phone and they never called me back. However, they did return my message through email, and they did sound professional as well. But still, sad to say, they eventually stopped communicating and have not responded to two of my emails in a month, and it has been two months since this has happened. My advice to anyone, stay away from this site, it is a true scammer, and it’ll save you time and frustration.
can they send the money to you in the mail?
Avoid this place. FRAUD. SCAM. They close account before paying you. I’ll place a complaint to authority and write to the media to make sure no one in Canada will use them again.
Opinion Outpost is NOT legitimate; the moment you try to claim any reward they will immediately terminate your account and falsely claim you have broken their rules, and their customer support appears to be automated to simply stall for time in the hopes you will just give up.
DO NOT USE OPINION OUTPOST, you will not get a single penny for the time and effort you put into it.
I dont know exactly how to add my opinion but im surw this is a really cool app it was good in the time being.
Waste of time. You can spend 15-20 minutes answering prequalification question then not get chosen to do a survey. I found that I got to answer an actual survey maybe 1 in 10 survey attempts.. So I might waste 2.5-3 hours before I actually get to fill out a survey and then only earn maybe 8-10 points.
The other thing is I am getting a lot of spam email since I registered with Opinion Outpost. I can’t prove that they are selling our emails, but it does seem fishy.
Beware, they have a habit of locking you out of your account before you can cash in!!
this site is the worst I have ever experienced.. they let you do surveys and rack your points up, then they find a way to shut down your account and NOT let you redeem.. this site needs to be shut down.. DO not waste your time with them.. sad thing is they are taking money from these companies putting out the surveys and then NOT paying people who are doing the surveys.. I am turning them in to be investigated.. that is so NOT legal what they are doing..
I wish I had read reviews before I did anything at opinionoutpost.com. The first sign that they are dodgy was when I completely finished a 20 survey, as in the progress bar showed 100%, and was then told that they already had enough surveys and that I wasn’t going to be credited. Then I started looking at reviews and seeing how they do whatever they can not to pay people. Well I had just enough points for the amazon.com card payout threshold. So I try and cash out and….. apparently I haven’t been a member long enough and they need to review my profile before they can pay me out. I will update when I resolve this. I’ll fucking bomb on them on every social media site I can. These surveys take time, my time is not free and neither is yours. If they don’t pay they need put out of business. I wonder if it is possible to find out who owns this site and who the manager is…..
I have had my account frozen several times when I go to cash out. I’ve sent multiple e-mails. I got an initial response that they were working on it, but it’s been weeks and nothing! Now, I can’t even log into my account. It’s really disappointing. When I first started using them, I thought it was great. Then, they started freezing my account. Three times it happened to me!
Hi,
I am one of those people who answered OpinionOutposts initial profile questions and they have frozen my account. Of course, I have received the generic “This is a quick note to let you know we’ve received your message, and will respond as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
This is really making contemplate that its a scam..
Do not use this site. bullshit site. I finished the survey, 15 minutes, and wasted my time and effort.
This is a fraudulent bullshit site. I finished survey , 15 minutes, a complete waste of time and effort.
In the end of survey the window clicks off without compensation. This type of people deserves death. they have no integrity for the good of people. This is the kind of people ruins all good things for the people and hope they pay the final price in hell with demons thrasdhingt their soles every minute everyday! Bitch mother f_____s!
Yup just had the famous ” frozen account ” so let’s see what happens now !
Cashed out 500 points to get told I violated their terms and conditions !! £25 that I can see me not getting , but time will tell
Like countless others I spent between 30-40 hours filling out surveys but when it came time to cash in my acct was suspended over “data concerns”.
I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General in Connecticut (where this company is based) and encourage everyone else to do so as well. It’s an easy online form,
I’ll be damn if you’re gonna screw me over OpinionOutpost….
don’t waste your time they are not trustful. I have tried to redeem my points and every time they said that I can’t redeem for un-clear reasons
Definitely a scam. I just logged in to redeem my points for an Amazon gift card. It kicked me out telling me my account has been terminated due to violations of their terms and conditions. Utter bollocks.
Should not be telling people this company is legit & pay you for your opinions. They have a long list of people over the past year or so that are still waiting for payment. They don’t pay nor bother to reply to emails.
i was doing surveys for them for 3 week build up the points 1st time i did get pay the second time i did not the still oh me $19.95 in they boot me off the surveys for not taking all the servers if you like to join up with these people don’t do it the 10.000 dollar giveaway is a lie they would tell you that SSI monitor their site that that too is a lie they do it all and i did turn them into the Better Business Bureau

Should have done some research before spending time on this s**t
I had used them for a few years, no problem. Did a few withdrawals and had no issues, one day I find my account frozen due to data concerns. I emailed them and they said the would fix it. They did.. for a day. Then they went and froze it again. I didn’t even do a survey yet. Avoid them at al costs. Save your time and your effort.
I just got the news today, ….. Indefinitely suspended.
So I replied back with, Make It Definite.
No star score from me.
Ha..! I just signed up and I can’t even log into my account. “Your account is frozen due to data concerns”..???? What ! Can’t even cancel because I can’t log in !! Bunch of bull if you ask me. And so far no help from there “Help Desk “.
Been trying to cashout with paypal…doesn’t work. Have 129 points
