RxCut Review – Legit Business Opportunity or Scam?

Welcome to my 3rd party review of RxCut!

There is a good chance that you have been approached by someone with the RxCut opportunity and you wanted more information.

You came to the right place because I have ZERO affiliation with RxCut and all of the information I provide is directly from official websites like the Better Business Bureau, credible media outlets and of course, the RxCut website.

One of the biggest mistakes any online entrepreneur can make is to rush into an MLM without doing enough research.

You need to make an informed decision and this is done by evaluating the leadership, the products, the compensation plan and any other red flags that may come up during the research process.

There are only two things I will ask of you in return.

To read the entire review and pay attention to the details I provide.

The entire purpose of my reviews is to show you what RxCut is not telling you.

The reason I say this is because I have yet to see an MLM like it.

I mean, prescription drug discounts and MLM…what could possible go wrong.

The RxCut Website – Is it Legit?

My first reaction to the RxCut website is that it is based on hype rather than valuable information people need in order to make the right choice.

The first thing you see is how much savings you will get by using the RxCut Savings Card.

In fact, “RxCut can save you up to 87% on your prescription medication today.”

Ok, everyone in the United States knows how ridiculous prescription drug costs are, so I will take a few minutes to see how this is possible.

I mean, congress can’t figure out how to lower drug costs so how did RxCut do it?

If you scroll down to the bottom of the main page, you will see some of the savings being made.

The percentages are not as high as 87% and they range between 24% and 75%.

Ok, I get it, the website claims “up to 87%,” so they are technically covered.

With that beings said, any savings on prescription drugs can be the difference between someone filling it or not.

The only question I have now is how do we know that this information is legit?

I guess we will have to take their word for it.

Some of you will be ok with that but I am not.

There isn’t much more to offer in regards to the website.

It is fairly easy to navigate because there are only a few things to click.

You can “Get Your Card” or “Search Lowest Prices.”

The “about” page is found under the “More” dropdown tab so you need to know what you are looking for if you want the founder’s bio.

However, they have a real time discount calculator on the bottom.

Let’s take a better look at the founder and other leadership that is involved with RxCut and see what we uncover.

RxCut Overview – What is the Company?

RxCut is was co-founded by Gerard Ferro and Eric Shugarts.

To be honest, there is not much information about the two founders although the bios on the RxCut website should be sufficient.

GERARD FERRO

• 28 years of broad based health care industry experience
• He is an inventor author and entrepreneur among other things
• Ferro co-founded SUNRx in 2001 and was the CEO until 2007

ERIC SHUGARTS

• Technology Leader at five corporations over the past 15 years
• Co-founded Lime Systems
• CIO of SUNRx in 2006
• Co-founded Free For All, Inc in 2008

There is a lot of hype in the bios of these two guys so if you want to read it.

To be honest, there isn’t a whole of lot of stuff on RxCut in terms of news or bad press.

There are a few complaint forums that I found but there was no real concern in regards to ethics.

Don’t get me wrong, there are things to point out that I wish RXCut would be open about and the fact that the company mixed prescription discounts and MLM.

Ok, let’s talk about the product and/or services.

RXCut Products

The affiliates and customers of RxCut receive discount savings cards, which do exactly what they sound like.

The process is quite simple really.

Affiliates will give the cards to people and the card will do the rest.

When the discount card is used, it will track the affiliate who gave it away.

This is great because there is no transfer of personal information for the person using the card.

Another great thing about the cards is that they are accepted by over 50 thousand different independent and/or chain pharmacies.

They provide discounts on any FDA approved brand named or generic prescriptions.

The savings is anywhere between 20%-85% although the highest I saw on their website is 74%.

Either way, this seems like a great investment right?

The only thing that bothers me is that there has to be a catch.

RxCut also partakes in a dental and medical plan but for all intents and purposes we will just stick to the bread and butter, discount cards.

The membership fee is $12.95 a month which is kind of annoying but very cheap considering there are programs out there that const thousands of dollars.

• Unlimited uses
• Never expires
• Works for pet medications
• No activation or enrollment
• No personal information needed
• Works for all FDA approved prescription medications
• Share your card or print one for your family, friends, co-workers and your community

Now let’s take a look at the compensation plan since we now know what the products are.

RXCut Compensation Plan

Here are the basics because there is no pdf version of the plan. In fact, I had idea pays its affiliates.

First of all you will have to pay a one-time fee of $199 in order to take part in the compensation plan.

Can anyone say pay-to-play?

There is also a tier system of if you recruit people and get paid $79 one-time if you recruit someone else to the affiliate program.

That is really all of the information I found on the RxCut compensation plan.

Better Business Bureau (BBB)

There is so much information you can get from the BBB database, which is why it is my go to website when I am reviewing MLMs.

I will provide you some screenshots and some commentary about the business according to the BBB.

The first thing you need to do is click on the RxCut BBB Page so I can explain a few things to you.

If you look on the left side of the page, you will notice that Premier Recovery Resources, Inc is RxCut and that the founder is indeed Mr. Gerard Ferro.

What is surprising is the fact that it still has a perfect grade.

Usually, a company will have a few tarnishes because a perfect company does not exist.

Anyway, I realized that there is a reason that the grade is still an A+; no one has complained or reviewed the company.

This means one of two things; either no one takes the free discount cards, or every single customer is satisfied with their service.

Remember what I said about perfect companies…

This is one of those things that drives me crazy when it comes to MLMs.

Why have alternate business names and why do not post these A+ grades from BBB on their website.

I suppose none of these questions will ever get answered but they are worth asking.

Let’s get to the final verdict.

The Final Verdict

Ok, I have been pretty fair with RxCut even though I think MLMs are shady to begin with and now they are mixing in prescription drug discount cards.

I have also never seen a MLM quite like this and this means it could pave the way to another successful niche.

What I do have a problem is the recruitment process.

I think this is the worst part about MLMs because they take the focus off the product.

This is where you start to get in some dangerous waters and this is the main reason MLMs get shutdown.

If the company does not meet certain revenue generation figures, then the company will be deemed a pyramid scheme.

Yikes. What also gets my goat is the fact that the vast majority of MLMers fail because there is only one real way of making any significant money; recruiting.

This is why I always recommend starting your own business.
