Well, this is what the website SoCofNews is offering, an opportunity to earn money just by reading the news articles found on the website.
The site claims that it is possible for members to earn up to $100 a day just by reading the news. But is this really a legitimate opportunity or just another scam?

SoCofNews is a Scam and a Waste of Your Time
SoCofNews is a website that claims to have an objective of uniting mass media and the readers. They aim to do this by providing a platform where mass media can post their stories and where an interested audience can read it.
The site will pay its members for each news article that they will read on SoCoftNews.com. To get your money, you will just need to achieve the minimum amount required for withdrawal.
This sounds too good to be true right? Getting paid just to read the news. Well, unfortunately, it is not true, as the site won’t really be paying you anything.
After a cash out request, the site will just keep your request pending or, worse, ask you to upgrade to a paid membership first before you are able to cash out instantly.
The SoCofNews site used to have a name of SoCupNews. Their appearance and site interface are identical, you can clearly see that the developers only changed the name.
SoCupNews has already been proven as a scam site and has already shut down, so the owners put up another site that has a similar sounding name and identical website appearance.
If these things still don’t convince you that the site is a scam, then you better read on, as I’ll be discussing in more detail in this review why SoCofNews is a scam.
Who is the SoCofNews Website Designed For?
The SoCofNews website is designed for two types of people with one being journalists and news companies while the other are people like you who looking to make money and likes to read the news.
For journalists and news companies, the site claims that they can help increase the readership of news stories through the many members that they have.
Their members love to read the news and to make it more enticing for them, they are being compensated for it. For people like you, the site promises that you will get paid just for reading news articles.
There’s no need to do anything else, just read the news articles found on the site and you will get paid for each one you read.
Sounds simple and easy right? But, as mentioned above, you won’t earn anything here and there’s even a chance that you will lose money if you believe the site that you will need to upgrade your membership.
In the next section, I’ll discuss more in detail why SoCofNews is considered a scam site and why you should stay away from it.
How Do You Earn with SoCofNews and Why it is a Scam?
Before I discuss why SoCoftNews is a scam, let us first talk about the earning opportunities that the site is claiming to provide.
The compensation plan of this site is very simple, you just need to register, which is free to do so, then start reading the news found on the site.
The company will pay you as little as $3.17 per news article that you read. That earning can go up by up to 50%, depending on the account type that you have.
The site mentions that you just need to read a certain number of news articles and friends invited to be able to get the next account type.
Aside from reading the news, SoCofNews also has an Affiliate program where you can earn more money for referring people to the website.
The site will pay you $170 for every invited partner and you will also earn 15% of your partner’s earnings. To withdraw your money, you will need to reach $800 worth of earnings first.
You can withdraw your money via PayPal or Payza. You just need to provide your PayPal or Payza account number.
Yes, both of them have an account number, but I won’t be quick to share it with this site or in any other site for that matter. The reason is that you only need to provide your email to get paid via PayPal or Payza.
If you share your account number there, it is like you’re already giving them easy access to the financial information stored in your PayPal, like a credit card or bank.
Now, the opportunity being offered here seems very attractive, but don’t be blinded by the good compensation plan, as the company is a scam and will not pay you anything.
The major reason why this is a scam is that the company just simply does not pay. Once you reach the minimum cash out requirement of $800, they will require you to suddenly upgrade the account.
After becoming a paid member, you can immediately cash out your money. Unfortunately, those who tried didn’t see their money.
Your withdrawal request will just forever be pending and the company will just ignore you. Another reason this company is a scam is that they claim they are being paid by media companies to post news on the site.
They then share 80% of the profits to the members who read the news being posted. If you really think about it, their business model really makes no sense.
Why would media companies pay SoCofNews just to have their news stories posted on their website? What does SoCofNews offer that warrants these companies paying them to post their stories?
They can share it for free on social media sites, where they can reach more people. They can even spend a little money to get targeted readers for their stories.
It really doesn’t make sense that there would be media companies willing to pay SoCofNews to have their stories placed on the site. The website doesn’t really offer them anything of value.
Besides, the site’s members don’t really need to read the news,, as they just need to click it, wait for a few seconds, and answer a simple math equation.
So the traffic they are providing is really low quality, which doesn’t warrant the kind of money they charge just to pay a member $3.17 for clicking.
Plus, this type of business model is not new, as there have already been other websites before that offer an identical opportunity.
It’s possible they are all owned by the same person and they just change the name and the appearance a bit to make it look like it is different.
If you’ve heard of SoCupNews, well this is basically the same site with just a different name. Everything else is pretty much identical.
What I Liked about SoCofNews
Now that we know more about SoCofNews, it’s time to see if there is something to like about the opportunity that the website is providing.
- Well, there’s really nothing to like about whatever opportunity that SoCofNews is offering, considering that everything on the site is really just a fake. You really won’t get anything of value on this site and it will be a big waste of time to even try it.
What I Disliked about SoCofNews
Now, there are actually a lot of things to dislike about SoCofNews, but I’ll just mention the things that you need to be aware of as well.
- The first issue with SoCofNews is, of course, the site is a scam. They won’t be paying you anything at all and will even try to scam you out of your money, as they will suddenly require you to upgrade your account to become a paid member just to be able to withdraw your money instantly. If you believe them, not only will you not get your money, but you will also lose money.
- It’s also a bad thing that SoCofNews is asking for your PayPal and Payza account number and not your email. If you’re not yet aware, you only need to provide your email address in order to get paid. The fact that they are seeking your account number means they are likely going to try to clean out the money in your PayPal or Payza account and whatever other accounts connected to it.
Is SoCofNews to be Recommended?
After learning more about what SoCofNews is, I recommend that you stay away from this site and don’t even try to check it out or look at the site if someone tries to get you to sign up.
You will just be wasting your time on the site, as you won’t earn anything there. What’s worse is that you might even lose your money or get your PayPal account cleaned out.
There are a lot of better opportunities out there to earn money online that are legitimate and will not scam you. So if you come across this site, just stay away and never look back.
