If you’re looking for a way to make money from home and have a qualification or training and experience in a specific area, then this could be a good way for you to make money.
WeWorkRemotely is a website that allows users to find jobs they can do from home.
It helps to match up companies to potential employees who have skills in a specific area of expertise.
Companies simply pay $299 per month to post a job on the site for as long as the role exists and make it available for applicants world while.
Working remotely is not a new concept and people have been working remotely since the dawn of time. Think of the blacksmiths, carpenters, the leather workers, and potters who each set up shop at their residence and sold their goods from there.
This is just a new era of working remotely, as the Internet has made it possible to employ skilled labor world wide.
In fact the Internet has made it possible for virtually anyone to make money online, whether they have a qualification or not.

Is We Work Remotely Legit?
The website was registered back in 2013 and has been in operation ever since. And when reviewing this business I see there are updates to jobs being posted on a daily basis, so they are still very active now.
WeWorkRemotely boasts about being the largest remote work community in the world, with over 2.5 million monthly visitors per month (roughly 80,000 visitors per day). And according to their website are used by Internet giants like Google and Amazon.
The other interesting part is that once you find a job that you might qualify for, you simply hit the “Apply for this position” button and you are sent directly to apply for the role on the companies own website.
Many other providers in this space usually require you post your employment details through their website and they then send it on to the company.
So, given this detail, the length of time they have been operating and clientele that uses their service, I would say yes, they are legit in my opinion.
Who uses We Work Remotely?
There are two types for users on this platform.
The first user is obviously the companies who are looking to fulfill vacancies in their business. As mentioned earlier they pay a monthly fee of $299 to post a job vacancy.
Often the cost of outsourcing work is more cost effective than hiring a full-time or even part-time permanent staff member.
Not only are there space costs, like supplying a desk, a chair, computer or laptop, and stationary there are often other costs including health insurance.
As you can imagine all of these costs add up. So it only makes financial sense to employ someone remotely and let them absorb these costs as part of their own business as a contractor.
The other user of this service is, of course, the person looking for employment.
With over 100,000 jobs posted, there’s certainly scope for employment in just about any area.
The types of categories that are currently available are : Sales and Marketing, Programming Jobs, Customer Support Jobs, Copywriting Jobs, Business and Management Jobs, Design Jobs, Devops and Sysadmin Jobs, Product Jobs, Other Types of Jobs and Finance and Legal Jobs.
I have worked with a number of people in the IT profession who have had to move from where they were born, leaving family and friends, in order to find work that they had trained for.
So being able to find work in your field of expertise and not have to leave family and friends to find work is an absolute godsend for these people.
Some job offers include reimbursement of Internet bills, computer hardware and even travel.
Some job offers whilst remote are only available for people in certain geographic locations.
How Do You Find and Apply For a Job?
To find a job, simply click on the search icon and enter a keyword that closely matches what you’re looking for, or alternatively click on the Category link at the top of the page and narrow your search down by selecting a category that matches the role you want.
Once you find a role that you want to check out, click on the job and you will see if the role is a part-time or full-time position, whether it is only available in a certain location or world wide.
You will also see the details of the role, qualifications and skills required, benefits and experience needed.
You will also be given the link of the company who is looking to employ you.
If you meet all of the requirements and you want to apply for the role, then you simply hit the “Apply for this Position” button, at the bottom of the page.
A pop up “Thanks for applying!” window acts as a reminder that you have taken into consideration the companies requirements of the role.
From there you hit the “Apply for this position” button in the popup window and you will be taken directly to the companies website, where you supply them with all of your details.
Every company has different requirements, some may need a covering letter others may not.
Some may want to see examples of your work to determine whether you’re a good fit for the company and team you will be working with, whilst others may need to have a face to face interview with you.
And although the attraction to WeWorkRemotely is to work from home anywhere in the world, some companies do require you reside in a certain location, for occasional meetings or work events.
The important part of this process is just to make sure you look over all the details as it can be easy to over look some of the more important requirements.
What I Liked about We Work Remotely
- I like that you can go to one website and quickly scan for a full-time or even part-time job that would allow you to do from home.
- I like the fact that the site is free for job seekers to use and that the costs fall on the company who want to hire you.
- I like that you can start searching for a position right away, without having to register with the website first.
- I found it very easy to search for jobs in a specific field of work.
- You can see the companies that are hiring, so you can go directly to their site to learn more about who your potential employer might be and whether you want to work for them.
- I like that they give you a full description of the job including added benefits like reimbursement of Internet bill, travel expenses etc.
- With over 100,000 jobs posted, and new jobs being posted daily, you’ll have a greater chance of finding work.
What I didn’t Like about We Work Remotely
- I know the thought of working from home is attractive, but the realities of completing work and meeting deadlines can be challenging, if you’re not disciplined.
It’s so easy to get distracted with TV, Kids, and especially the Internet, that you could find yourself getting trapped in the Internet “rabbit hole” and ending a day not having accomplished much work at all.
This is not so much a problem with WeWorkRemotely, but more being your own boss, and working from home. Trust me – it’s great to work from home, but, it’s not for everyone.
- Most of the jobs that are listed, are for people who have some sort of qualification and experience, so this would discount a lot of job seekers who might have the experience in an area, having worked in it most of their lives – but no credentials to go along with it.
Yes, some jobs do require a university degree like a Doctor or Lawyer, but a computer programmer, copywriter etc, in my opinion don’t.
Do I Recommend We Work Remotely
So in summary, I feel that WeWorkRemotely is a good opportunity for people to make money from home if you have skill sets and qualifications an employer is looking for.
As a job seeker you don’t have to register with the website at all and you can start looking for new, work from home, job opportunities – immediately.
I like the fact that, companies pay $299 per month to find suitable candidates to fulfill their business requirements, instead of you having to pay a registration fee to search for a position.
This shows the companies who post these jobs are committed financially to the process of finding suitable candidates.
I like the fact that a full description of the job including all the benefits the company is willing to pay, is also included when you apply for the position, so you have all of the information to make an informed decision.
So I would recommend this site.
