People are making money as online mock Jurors, simply by answering questions that relate to “real life” court cases. If this is something you find interesting, then this could be a good way for you to make money..
If you’re over the age of 18 and are a US citizen, then this could be a good way for you to earn some extra money.
Once you register with the company and provide your details, the company sends you cases via email that match your county or federal district and and you can choose whether to participate in the case or not.
Once they have enough responses to a case they close it and no additional participants will be added, much like a real court case.
They give you time to review the case and all the material, and in return, you provide answers to all of their questions about that case.
Once they receive your feedback they pay you via check on the 21st of each month.
If this is not for you, but you are looking for a way to make money then, you can also check out the step-by-step training that helps me earn over $10,000+ per month working from home.
What is Online Verdict
Online Verdict was created by experienced trial consultants to provide attorneys with case feedback from qualified jurors in a case venue.
The website was registered back in 2004, so it has been in operation for more than a decade now, and it’s no wonder given the cost of creating a traditional focus group.
With traditional focus groups costing between $20,000 to $50,000 dollars to conduct, Online Verdict provides a more cost effective and reliable alternative to a live jury for a fraction of the cost.
The information gathered from Online Verdict helps trial consultants to determine whether the case warrants a traditional focus group, whether to take the case on, or any case issues before they conduct other research.
Who uses Online Verdict?
There are two types of users of Online Verdict.
Law firms who want to get an idea of how their cases would go in a “real life” court room. As mentioned earlier, the cost to create a traditional focus group is huge in comparison to a “virtual” court room.
So, I’d imagine that law firms, who didn’t think their clients cases were worth spending $50,000 creating these focus groups, would have had to take an educated guess on whether they could win a case.
This probably meant they may have potentially turned down cases that they could have realistically won, if they had the right data to make that decision.
The other user of Online Verdict are people who want to make money as an online trial Juror.
For this kind of make money online opportunity, you don’t need any special skills at all, other than reading and writing, and at a very basic level, which means that this opportunity is opened to anyone over the age of 18, who resides and is a citizen of the United States.
How Does Online Verdict Work?
Once you have registered your details with Online Verdict, they will send you cases based on your profile.
They send you details of the case and in some cases a questionnaire for you to fill in and send back to Online Verdict.
As you can imagine, the law firms are after your honest opinion whether it be positive or negative as this will help them to determine the next course of action. So there are no right or wrong answers, just your own opinion on the case.
You do get the option to accept or decline the offer to take part in a case, so it’s really up to you if you want to participate.
Once you get sent a case to review all you have to do is provide your honest feedback and or answer a questionnaire. They pay once a month.
You can work for as long as you want as an Online Juror.
How Do You Make Money With Online Verdict
You will need to register your details with the Online Verdict website. Two of the main requirements is that you be over the age of 18 and a US citizen.
Cases are distributed based on your profile match to a case, and in particular your demographic location, so it kinda sucks for you if you don’t live in an area that has a lot of crime in terms of making money with Online Verdict, but it’s also great that you don’t.
There is no ideal profile match to get the maximum number of cases to review, so like any other survey or online jury site, it’s best to put in your unique details.
So based on your profile, you will be sent cases for you to complete and review.
Each case can take anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes to review and you are paid on how long it takes for you to complete a case.
As you can imagine, there are no right or wrong answers, only the answer that you would honestly say if you were in a court room.
Remember, lawyers just want to understand the reaction of a person who fits the profile of a Juror, so they can determine how to present a case in favor of their client.
Once you have completed a case you will get payment within 1 to 2 weeks by check. Unfortunately, they don’t payout via direct deposit or paypal.
What I Liked about Online Verdict
You’ll have the chance to review real legal cases and give your honest feedback.
- You will get paid for your opinion on a case you review and complete.
- You don’t have to look for cases to review, they will be sent to you via email and you can either accept to take the cases on or decline them.
- You can work as a mock juror for as long as you want to.
What I Didn’t Like about Online Verdict
- One of the biggest complaints with Online Verdict that I have seen on the web is that you have to be a US Citizen to participate in the program, which unfortunately means if you don’t live in the US you are not illegible to make money with Online Verdict.
- There are limited spots available for each case (between 25 and 50 spots) and Jurors are selected on who is available at the time, which means you can’t line up cases for you to complete.
- The number of cases you get depend on your demographic location, which means that you may not qualify for many cases in your part of the country if there isn’t a lot of court cases. On one hand, it’s good for you, if your state is low on crime, but not so good for making money with Online Verdict.
- This is not a way to make money online full-time.
Do I Recommend Online Verdict
Online Verdict has been in operation for over a decade and a half now, and for an online business to survive this long is a testimony in itself that this is a legitimate business.
The business model is an intermediary that provides a service to trial consultants who depend on favorable outcomes for there clients.
Understanding how a real Jury would react to a potential clients case helps them to determine whether to take on a case, or do more research.
So in this regard, I feel that consultants are getting real value for their money (given it would usually cost upwards of $50,000 to get the same info), and let’s face it, if the value wasn’t there for law firms, this business model would have ceased to exist, as lawyers wouldn’t pay for the service.
Is Online Verdict worth it?
In my opinion, I believe it is worth the time and effort to setup your profile, if you’re 18years old and over, a US citizen and find reviewing court cases interesting.
If you think you might have an extra spare 30 to 60 minutes to participate in a case from time to time, then this could be a good way for you to make money on an adhoc bases.
Unfortunately, it’s not a money making opportunity that you could depend on full-time, but it is a good way for you to earn an extra $60 to $125 from time to time.
The answers you give are based on your own opinion, so you essentially can’t go wrong with answering the questions.
Yes, it is true, you may not get a lot of cases to review given where you reside, but, in my opinion, if you do qualify for a case, then it’s easy money, and it might be interesting too, depending on the case.
So I would definitely recommend Online Verdict.
