Uvocorp is a company that enables people to make money as freelance writers. They have a number of writing assignments aimed at various academic writing levels that are focused on disciplines like computer science, engineering, psychology and more.
This opportunity is open to freelance writers worldwide and only requires that you complete a sample paper, include a valid email address, verify your phone number, have a facebook account, a valid photo ID, and access to one of their payment methods.
In order to qualify to participate as a freelance writer, you will first have to sign up and pass their sample paper, which is evaluated and if successful, you can start making money.
However, there are several issues that you need to be aware of before deciding whether or not to join Uvocorp.
I’ll discuss these issues in detail below.
But before I discuss them, I want to also mention that, you can make money as a freelance writer by following the step-by-step training that helps me earn over $10,000+ per month working from home.

What is Uvocorp?
UVOCORP was founded back in 2006, and is an academic writing assistance company, that provides professional writing services to clients.
Who uses Uvocorp?
There are two main groups that use Uvocorp, the first being clients who want content to be written for them and the second are freelance writers who want to get paid for writing.
How To Join Uvocorp
To join Uvocorp as a writer you first have to register an account, which is a fairly simple process and only requires that you have a facebook account.
Next you have to provide your email address, verify your phone number and photo ID which is a security measure to ensure proof of identity.
Next they ask that you provide a sample paper, that consists of a 5 paragraph sample paper on a selected topic.
You will have 3 hours to complete the paper, but you will be given some help, or hints and advice before you start the process.
Once you’ve sent your sample paper back, it will be evaluated and checked for all the usual things, like grammar, spelling, academic writing standards and rules.
This process can take between 4 to 7 business days to complete.
If your sample paper is approved then your writers account will be activated and you will be able to start making money, however, if not, you will have to wait 3 months before you can reapply for an account.
Once you’ve been accepted, you will have to undergo a probation period where you will be obliged to join the Mentoring Project or the Editing Program, both of which are aimed at helping you learn and acclimate to Uvocorp’s writing standards and processes.
However, this seems to be a point of contention for many Uvocorp writers, because if any of your work has to be rewritten or edited by your mentor, a portion of your writing fee is deducted and paid to the editor.
I will talk more about this later in this review.
Buying Uvocorp Accounts
It’s therefore, not a surprise, that some writers are looking for a way around this part of the process, so as to skip the Mentoring and Editing program altogether, and buy an already established Uvocorp account.
There have been Uvocorp accounts for sale on the Internet from Canada, Great Britian, Ukraine, the USA, Australia and Russia, as such, Uvocorp has found them and closed the accounts down.
As part of the registration process you will also see a BIG warning sign, informing people not to buy registered Uvocorp accounts on the Internet.
The benefit of owning an established account is that 1) you don’t have to go through the registration process which includes writing a sample paper, and 2) you might be able to skip the entire mentorship program.
How Does Uvocorp Work?
Once your account is activated you will be able to earn as a writer, however, they have different pay rates depending on whether English is your first language or second language.
They also have different rates for more complicated writing assignments, at different academic levels, in several disciplines such as :
- Architecture, Building, and Planning
- Biology – and other Life Sciences
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science
- IT Web
English as a Native Language Writers
Writers get paid between $12 and $26.50 for urgent assignments that have to be completed within a 24 hour period, and $7.50 and $21.00 for non urgent assignments.
Pricing for Complicated Assignments (Engineering, Computer Science, etc)
Writers get paid between $9.80 and $21 for urgent assignment that have to be completed within a 24 hour period, and $7 and $15.40 for non urgent assignments.
English as a Second Language Writers
Writers get paid between $7 and $15 for urgent assignment that have to be completed within a 24 hour period, and $5 and $11 for non urgent assignments.
How Do You Make Money With Uvocorp?
Like any content mill, your first call of action is to look for writing assignments that fit your expertise.
When I viewed their website, I could see that they had 20 available orders in the cue, averaging a price of around $96.39.
These assignments are categorized in their discipline, academic level, number of pages, deadline and cost as shown in this example below.
It’s important to meet any deadline that has been specified to an assignment as failure to meet it will result in a portion of your pay being deducted.
If your mentor has to rewrite or make corrections with your writing assignment, then a portion of your pay will be deducted for your mentor’s time and correction’s made.
You must also ensure that all of your writing is unique and not copied from the Internet as Uvocorp will fine you for plagiarism.
Now that we have got the fines and deductions out of the way, Uvocorp will also pay a bonus between 0 and 7.5% to high quality writers for papers written.
What is the payment procedure?
There are several methods in which Uvocorp can pay you including Paypal, Skrill, Prepaid Debit Card, and finally Wire transfer for payments greater than or equal to $300.
Regular payouts are easily managed. You can request payment between the 1st and the 3rd, or between the 15th and the 18th of every month.
What are people saying about Uvocorp?
From what I have been able to ascertain, there appears to be a lot of issues surrounding the Mentoring programs.
Whilst the programs are meant to ensure that quality and standards have been adhered to, there appears to be some mentors who have used this as a way for them to make money from the work of others.
In some circumstances, mentors are apparently making unnecessary changes to writing assignments and deducting large portions of money from the writer for their contribution.
Whether, this is a warranted complaint, is speculation, and most probably difficult to prove, however, there have been some cases where the client didn’t agree with the changes made by the mentor.
What I Like about Uvocorp
- I like the fact that you can make money as a freelance writer.
- I like the that opportunity is available worldwide and that they have several different methods in which a freelance writer gets paid.
- I like that they have a mentoring program that helps new writers acclimate to the writing process.
- I like that the pay rates are set at a reasonable level – as far as content mill websites go.
What I Don’t Like about Uvocorp
- I don’t like the fact that there were different rates outlined for native English speakers and English as a second language (ESL). There are some ESL writers, who can write better than native English writers.
- Whilst, I like the IDEA of the mentoring program, in some instances, mentors have found ways to exploit the system and make money off the back of other peoples work.
- I don’t like the fact that there is no time frame given on the mentoring program, which means your work could potentially continue to be reduced based on who you get as a mentor.
- The fact that Uvocorp can deduct money from your writing assignment seems like a recipe for disaster for both the company and the writer.
Do I Recommend Uvocorp?
While this company is a legitimate way for you to earn money online as a freelance writer, as mentioned above, they do have issues with deducting money from writers for a number of different reasons.
This is not to say that you can’t make money with Uvocorp, but more that the system they have in place to help writers, also has the ability to hurt writers.
I like the fact that they have a mentoring program available for new writers to help them learn and acclimate to their system, as well as to become better writers over time, however, I don’t like the fact that they take money away from writers for errors in work or where their mentors are paid for doing rewrites.
I think the idea behind the mentoring program is sound, however, the fact that the mentor has the ability to get paid for rewrites they deem necessary, is a fundamental flaw in the system.
It leaves the door wide open for mentors to rewrite content whenever they want to make a few extra bucks.
It’s also a problem for mentors who are making necessary changes, because they can be accused of making unnecessary changes.
Taking potential income away from writers to enforce corrective behavior, in my opinion, does more damage to the integrity of the company than it does changing behavior.
It is for these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend working for Uvocorp.
There are also other ways for you to make money writing for yourself that can bring you hundreds if not thousands of dollars per month, to learn more, you can read this review.
Lastly, if you have had any experience, good or bad with Uvocorp, please leave a message in the comment section below. I would love to get your feedback on this company.
