Melaleuca Review – Legit Company or Scam Benefits?

Melaleuca Reviews

Company: Melaleuca
Founder: Frank L. Vandersloot

Welcome to my Melaleuca 3rd party review!

I am really glad you found my review because I look at MLMs and network marketing companies a lot differently than most other 3rd party reviewers.

I make sure you know all of the information you have about the companies is legit and allows you get a clear picture of what you are getting yourself into.

You will never see an advertisement in my reviews because that is not what I do.

I am here to provide you an honest look into every facet of MLMs and in this case Melaleuca.

The way I do this is to start with a background check into the company, which talks about the founder and location it operates.

This is also the time where I introduce any legal issues that may have occurred during the company’s tenure.

Then I provide product information and try to find both negative and positive comments.

This allows you to see things from both perspectives.

This is really important. After that, I introduce the compensation plan and show you if you can make some cash.

The last few sections of the review are based on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) intel, a list of red flags to be careful of and then a final verdict.

You will be pleased to know that I have absolutely ZERO affiliation with the companies I review so you will not have to worry about any bias reporting.

You can also check out the step-by-step training that helps me earn over $10,000+ per month working from home.

Melaleuca Overview – What is the Company?

First I will provide all of the information about Melaleuca that they express on their own website so that you get an idea of what kind of company they are.

A man named Frank L. Vandersloot founded this company in 1985.

In case you are not good at math, it has been around for 31 years.

This means it is rather hard to label as a scam but I am going to at least try to test the limits of the Melaleuca business model.

Other facts about the company is that it operates in 17 countries and has generated over $1 billion in revenue for the past few years.

This is amazing considering it started out as a small business in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA.

You see, these are all amazing stats that anyone affiliated with Melaleuca should be proud of.

Here are some things that the company does not want you to know.

You may not agree with the following but in the spirit of objectivity, you have to at least recognize that the company is far from perfect.

As you can see, this customer review has clearly had a bad experience with Melaleuca.

Although I think the comment is a bit harsh but this type of complaint is common among MLMs.

You see, the return policy is filled with loopholes that only benefit the company and therefore, they can cause a lot of trouble for customers and affiliates.

I did not see any confirmation about needed a written cancellation but I wouldn’t put it past an MLM to do something ridiculous like that.

This second comment is a bit more alarming because this is an ongoing issue with MLMs worldwide.

This is due to the fact that they take money immediately from customers and then seem to not worry about shipping issues or cancelling accounts.

The next problem this customer will face is the restocking fee that will take an additional %10 or more off of the refund.

That is of course if this single mother gets a refund at all.

Like I have said before, take these comments for what they are, a look inside this particular customer’s experience with Melaleuca.

Obviously not all customers experience the same problems but if a company is willing to normalize this kind of interaction then why risk this kind of treatment when there are other ways to make money online.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the product line.

Melaleuca Products

Melaleuca Product Reviews

I usually list every single product or service that an MLM offers but this company has a massive product list and it would take ages to do.

I will simply list the product categories and you can click here for the Melaleuca Product List.

• Vitamins and Suplements
• Food & Weight Loss
• Hot Beverages
• Medicine Cabinet
• Beauty
• Cleaning and Laundry
• Home Fragrances
• Pet Care
• Bath and Body
• Hair Care
• Facial Care
• Skin Care
• Dental Care
• Essential Oils
• Extra Savings

See, I told you, there are so many products.

This is actually a great time to bring up the fact that you can promote a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

This means that your customers can range from health conscious people and pet lovers to homemakers and people that just like to save money on everyday products.

There seems to be something for everyone.

There are products are labeled as gluten free, kosher and specifically for kids.

This is good to hear but since I have no experience with the company itself, I cannot comment on whether or not this is legit.

I would strong suggest looking at the entire product list using the link above so you have a comprehensive understanding of all Melaleuca has to offer.

Compensation Plan

Melaleuca Compensation Plan Reviews

There are going to be two links that you need to read in their entirety in this section.

The first is the Melaleuca Compensation Plan and the next is the 2014 Income Statistics.

They are both important and if you are even considering this company you have to know them inside and out and realize how you fit in…or not fit in.

1. Product Introduction Commission
2. Personal Customer Commission
3. Organization Commission
4. Presentation Point Commission
5. Advancement Bonus
6. Pacesetter Bonus
7. Mentoring Bonus
8. Core Mentoring Bonus
9. Double Core Mentoring Bonus
10. Leadership Growth Bonus
11. Monthly Car Bonus
12. 20/20 Bonus

It seems like there is a lot of ways to get paid and in some ways it is.

Most MLMs don’t have this many ways to get compensation for setting up a great downline.

However, most of the bonuses are only available for higher ranking affiliates.

Meaning, you have no chance at them unless you are in the top few percent of all earners.

This is all spelled out in the section of the compensation plan they label “The Fine Print.”

This is the other catch that they do not tell you right off the get go. “Active Customer: A customer who has completed and returned a Customer Membership Agreement and purchases at least 29 Product Points during the calendar month.”

This means that if you miss the criteria to be considered an active member, you miss out on all of the bonuses for that month.

It is pretty crazy to think that you can work your butt off for months and then miss out on the compensation that you deserve.

This may not seem like a big deal to recruitment beasts but not every newbie to the MLM world is aware of the reality of things.

I hope you are now. Let’s take a look at the income stats for a quick second (2nd link above).

Check this out!!!

• 64% of Melaleuca customers don’t even participate in the Membership Program
• 88% make between $24-$14,652 annually
• 3.7% of all Members, including non-actives, are a part of the upper echelon of leaders

The income statement I linked to you above proves that MLMs, including Melaleuca are legal pyramid schemes due to lax government regulations.

This means that only the best recruiters in the world have a shot at making a decent amount of money and the rest of the members are just hanging on for dear life.

They are being dragged along to further the company so the leaders make all the money.

Good luck with that if you choose Melaleuca.

Better Business Burear (BBB)

As you can see, Melaleuca has the best grade possible.

This is understandable considering Melaleuca has been around for a long time.

Keep in mind that the only criteria for grades is how well they take care of customer complaints.

The real juicy parts are in the reviews, so let’s take a look.

This is a common complaint with so many MLMs.

This auto shit stuff is crazy because it forces people to take the product and you have to go through so many loopholes just to cancel anything.

Look at all the stuff this customer had to do just to cancel the account and the autoshipping.

This customer had to cancel a card to make sure the charges would stop.

What happened to the customer always being right.

I think it is a little ridiculous that someone would have to go through so much trouble.

I think it is only fair to show another comment but this time on the positive side of things.

Although I disagree with MLMs in general, it is sometimes nice to see a positive comment to balance things out a bit.

This customer is obviously part of the membership program and is getting decent service.

Although the comment is a bit biased due to the fact that he/she has great mentors, not everyone is so lucky.

On the other hand, you can’t argue with this because this person is probably getting great help from their mentors and that is something to look forward to.

The Final Verdict

As I have stated before, I cannot call this company a scam due to the fact that it has been around for a long time.

With that being said, there are really ZERO laws that protect consumers from MLMs because they are labeled as direct selling businesses.

There is even a direct selling caucus in the United States Government which basically protects MLMs from being regulated at all.

This is a little scary and therefore, I label all MLMs as legal pyramid schemes.

There are so many other ways to make money and therefore I suggest you go in a completely different direction than MLMs.

For example, you could join a training program that teaches you how to make your own business online.

There are some for free but some do cost a lot of money.

I recommend joining a FREE training program because it will help you out in the long run.

If you are looking for a specific example, check out this review.

You can try it out for FREE so there is absolutely no risk.

Also, you can make some contacts with some true professionals that can help you get started.

I hope this review of Melaleuca helped you on your journey.
